  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I need your help - when I open the car doors on my 2010 Genesis 4.6, the interior dome lights do not come on. I have to manually press the button to get light inside the vehicle.

Could someone please guide me as to what needs to be done so that they come on automatically when the car doors are open?

Thank you very much indeed!

Section 4 page 83 of your owner’s manual has the information you are seeking.
• DOOR: In the DOOR position, the map lamp and the room lamp come on when any door is opened regardless of the ignition switch position.

If the above settings do not fix the problem, there is button switch in drivers door jamb that signals when the door is open, and sometimes it is stuck closed.

Many thanks for the responses!

It seems that the lights should come on automatically - I shall check the driver and passenger doors to locate the "stuck" button as advised - I hope I get it unstuck!

Thanks again!

There is most likely no stuck button.

Look at your front ceiling fixture. There is a button labeled DOOR. Push the button IN.
