Door Chrome Option

Can anyone explain why some Genesis's have that horizontal chrome strip across the doors on the bottom and some don't? Is it package or model that it varies?

I like it but haven't seen it on the 2012's v6 basic I have looked at.

i believe its part of the premium package. i only have the premium and nav package on my car and its definately not the nav package. under the premium package it says "Door Trim Insterts". thats the only thing i can think of

In the past it used to be offered with the V8 only and was unavailable with any V6, no matter the trim. Not sure about the 2012's though.
In any case, there is an after market option available.

My v8 '12 has it and I remember asking about the v6 tech. It still isn't offered on anything but the v8.
