  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Downloaded the new software update for my 2023 GV80 via USB stick

Actually, I tried the 21, 22 and 23 after the mess up and none of them fixed the issue. I think the 22 and 23 are the same and there is some slight difference in the 21. When you look at the software versions, the 22 and 23 are the same but the 21 is different.

I just checked on mine and see that it is now available for my model/year and downloaded it to the USB. Will wait for your feedback before doing my update. Good luck DaleNet.

Thanks. It is updating now. Figured it cannot be any worst
then the last update. Hope they fixed all the missing stuff.

Thank you, and yet there is no status update from mapnsoft on the case.

OK, so the update just finished, and I am happy to report that the speed limit sign is now back in the HUD. I did not take it for a drive to see if it will change to red like it is supposed to do. Will check that later. I did check to see if SXM channel changes showed up in the HUD and they do. Still need to see if someone calls me that is in my contacts list that they show up in the HUD. So, as far as I can see, it looks like all is fixed. Go ahead and update away.

So-update indicated I could shut down car and that update would safely continue. Update was at 10% when I shut car down. Came back, started car and it was if nothing took place and that I would have to start over.
How long does it take to load into the car? Did you leave car running while updating?

It takes an hour or more. I left mine running. Others have shut down and say they received an email when it was done.

I can now verify that the speed limit sign on the HUD and the dash now turn red when you exceed your preset. Happy days are here again.
thank you for sharing, so GV80 is back on track then :)

Confirmed, speed limit is back.

This is very good news. I’m out of town but will do the update in a couple of days when I return.

Why is it that none of us that have open cases with both Genesis and Mapnsoft on this issue were notified of the update?

My guess it was mapsoft that dropped the ball. From the beginning they wanted to say it was other companies' fault, but everything pointed toward them.

I had a case open with mapnsoft, in fact i got an email yesterday saying the engineer ls are working on the issue.

Guess they finished up.

I bought my GV80 on December 6 and was surprised the HUD did not display everything I had seen on videos about the car. The dealer dismissed the idea that there was a problem. --- Today, thanks to this forum, I downloaded the update and WOW - there is the traffic signage - and Sirius XM now displays channel changes. Thank you everyone for following this problem to a solution.

Can anyone confirm that the newest update fixed the issue that was broken by the Oct 2022 update, as described below? In the manual (attached) it is referred to as "changing set speed".

Prior to Oct update, when using smart cruise control, anytime the speed limit changed, you would get blinking white up/down arrows in the cluster (where the cruise control info is located), which would be a notification that the cruise control was set to a speed that no longer matched the posted speed limit. You could then press the speed adjust switch on the steering wheel in the direction the arrows were pointing, and the cruise control would automatically be reset to posted speed limit. This feature quit working with the Oct update. I have attached a page from the manual that describes this feature. In the attachment, it is the part called "Changing set speed", not the "warning overspeed" which has already been reported as fixed.
