driver side front door closure

does anyone else have a "stiff" driver side front door where u need to exert more force than usual to appropriately close the door ?

the passenger side front door is noticeably normal. it seals right up with very little force.

Having come from Volvos I find these doors abnormally light when opening and closing. If you are having this issue you may have to take it in for some adjustment/realignment.

Car is tightly sealed if windows and sunroof are closed - I had to get used to giving it a little more of a pull to ensure it shut when I first started driving it, but quickly got used to it and don't find any issues now. It's not that it needs to be slammed, but you might not be used to closing the driver's door in a tightly sealed car? I know I wasn't...

Ditto.... Try opening your window then closing the door to see if it feels he same. If it feels better, then it is normal.

Tried with my window up and down and didn't find a different. All doors seem to close correctly for me.

I too do not notice that my door doesn't close properly but I've just come out of a Kia Casenza which is similarly equipped with tight sealing doors.

Coming from a 2008 Merc C350, I find the driver door on my Genesis needs way more force to close. For the first few months I needed two tries to close the door from the inside properly about 50% of the time. I chalked it up to less precision in the door mechanism. Maybe not?

I don't think precision has anything to do with it. These are heavy doors and I think previous posters are spot on about this car being very air tight.

well we shall find out once i get the car back. im impressed if it really is that air tight. lexus cannot even make it that air tight

I too find the driver's side door difficult to close. All other doors close fine with little pull / push (depends where you are - in or out) however the driver's door 9 out of 10 times won't shut, I find myself slightly slamming the door in order to fully close.

IMO it is an alignment problem, if it was an air tight situation all other doors would behave the same way... and that is not the case.

I noticed the same problem when I first purchased the car. The closing problem went away after the first week and never returned.....

The door is hard to close because the car is air tight. if you open the window on another door, the driver's door will be easier to close.
