  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Friday I picked my 4.6 and have driven it a few times without the following issue. Tonight as i was about to unlock the doors I noticed the driver seat had moved forward all the way to the steering wheel including the back portion of the seat which leaned forward to its max. The side mirrors and the steering wheel was "reset" as well. I've tried searching the forum and the owners manual without any results. I did not change any of settings before my last exit of the vehicle. My jacket pocket where I stored the smart key did had another set of keys which could of depress one or more of the smart keys buttons continuously by mistake.

Thanks

have you set the drivers seat with the memory yet?

The other day I noticed the same thing happened in my V6...but to the drivers seat.

I'll go with ViaFan's question. ALSO- there is an additional procedure to match your car to your fob as I recall, not just the 2 selectable settings.

Remember to be in Park when you set the memory settings.

I mistakingly wote "driver's seat" in my last post.....I meant Passenger's Seat. That was what was so strange as the seat memory buttons have nothing to do with the passenger's seat.

Yeah, that was one of the first things I did, was to set the memory for the seat. Another weird thing that happened that night was in regards to the door locks. I had unlocks all doors and a minute had passed by, the first person to reach the car was the passenger and as she pulled the door handled, the car locked all the doors. The smart key was in my pocket at the time and it's possible that it jammed up against set of keys i had in there. It was just too weird that the exact moment she pulled the door handle the car locked its doors. I though the car was KIT for a sec..:D

I have noticed that nearly every every time I get in the car I have to reset the side mirrors. I like to have them swung way out so each time I get in the car I set them out and push the reset button for #1. The next time I get in the car they have tilted in and I have to reset them. Going through the process of setting them for #1 again. For some reason they don't believe that I really want them swung out so far.

When I did the Miami drive event the woman who was in the car with me asked if my car locked itself if I had both keys in my pocket. Mine does not. She said that she once had all of the keys for all of the cars in her pocket which would be two keys for each car and as she walked by the line of cars she could could hear them all locking themselves.
