If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Driver's Seat

I have the Signature package,so I do not have the upgraded seats. I agree, they are uncomfortable, so much so that that I curse the car!! For me, the left side "thigh" bolster is too firm and the seat cushion as well... and after about 20 minutes driving, I am constantly trying to find a comfortable position. Unfortunately, it took a good 3 or 4 mos before this started to occur. I purchased the car, but the depreciation on the car already has the value less than what I owe (not too much, but...), so I can't just get out of it with out paying out of pocket (I have had the car for 15 mos), but on the same note, I like most other aspects of the car. So it is something I will live with for now. My almost ready to drive teenager lovers driving it, so maybe in a year it will become hers and I can get a new ride!

I'll bet its your wallet that's causing your problem....... my chiropractor said the main cause of many back problems is the wallet kept in your pocket.....try
taking your wallet out when you drive

I can confirm that this was the cause of my back pain - a fat wallet (I wish it was fat with bundles of money, but I tend to carry around a ton of stuff in my wallet that made it pretty big).

Love the seats in my 2015 AWD Tech model, the are 2nd or tied for the best seats I've ever sat in.

I find it hard to believe the signature seats are that much worse. Have you tried other cars at the dealership? Or does the problem only manifest after a couple hours?

+1 to the wallet!

Agree - I take the wallet out of my back pocket. Problem solved.

Permanent solution is to move wallet to front pocket. Did this over 10 years ago and it is life changing.

I also cleaned out the collection of stuff that made my wallet about 3" thick. It was actually comical to look at. There should be a show for this - "Extreme Hoarders - Wallet Edition". :-)

An auto upholstery shop should be about to make the seat more comfortable; it's a lot cheaper than a new car. My bolsters were initially too firm until I learned to adjust the air in them. Unfortunately, there is no similar adjustment for the too-firm seat cushions.

It seems that the cushions on most cars with leather seats are more firm than I prefer.

Ditto on the wallet. Had major back problems a few years back. When going through rehab my trainer tought me a lot of things. One, carry your wallet in your front pocket. Two, how to properly bend over. Three, how to properly sit with an arched back. Since then, I have had zero back issues. I use lumbar supports in the house and at work. In my old Honda I had one in the car as well but with the Genesis, the lumbar support is awesome so no need for a supplemented one.

I have 17k on my 10 month 3.8 Ultimate. Seats are on par with my former car, a Kia Cadenza. All day comfortable. No squirming to find a comfortable spot, no aches or cut off leg circulation.

Put me in a Chrysler product and immediately I find the seats uncomfortable.

You could bring the car to an automotive trim shop and have them redo the foam on the seat and make it softer and they can modify the cushion. Will make the seat the way you want it. Rich

To UmALum1990:
I feel exactly the same way you do, the seat comfort or lack there of makes me dread the car and it's too late to back out. The side cushions on the bottom are too firm for me, and no I don't keep a wallet in my pocket. I will do what jarred52 suggests and find an auto upholstery shop because adding foam pads(tried two now) aren't getting it done.

Considering I will have the car 4 more years, at least, that makes perfect sense, and not sure why I didn't think of it. It's a small investment that will probably pay off much more. Thanks for the tip!

Wallet in the front pocket the last few years... Not because of discomfort, my pant pockets would wear in the bottom corner over time.

Check out Bellroy wallets. They have found a way to make a bulky wallet much slimmer with the same amount of cards. My wife bought me one for our anniversary and I have been loving it since.

Folks, I also have come to dislike the driver's seat, but the issue here is that over the year I've owned the car, the seat cushions seem to have given up. After a few miles on the road, you start to feel all the hard structures under the cushion, including a rectangular piece that seems to be strategically placed to torture your tailbone.

Question: Has anybody taken the issue to a dealer? Can you share your experience with that? Given what I've seen from Hyundai service (at least my dealer) so far, I'm not holding out a lot of hope for a fix. But if anybody else has succeeded on this, would be good info/ammo for me.

Which seat package do you have? Do you have the upgraded seats or the lower level ones?

I don't know about other seat versions, but the ones in my 5.0 base have been quite comfy so far. Longest trip so far has been about 2-1/2 hours each way.

My wife especially enjoys the front passenger seat and sometimes doesn't want to get out of it when we arrive home.
