  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a whistle or air leak when the drivers window is up all the way and I need to tap the power window button down to silence the noise, I haven't brought it back yet but I believe the window is breaking the seal by moving up too far, does anyone have a similar issue? Does anyone know if the window has a hight adjustment inside the door?

I have the same problem---brought it to service advisers attention and it was checked and the tech did not think it was a problem BUT I hear a rushing of air every time I drive. I have been trying to get the window to go up further---I will try tapping it down a bit tomorrow to see what happens and then visit service----lets keep in touch with our experience

Don't know about mechanical or electrical stops but the service manuals do describe loosening the bolts holding the glass to the mechanism and adjusting the position that way. Works for both the front and rear door glass. It's chapter 12, Body (Interior and Exterior) in the service manuals. Pages 20 to 40 (ballpark, it varies depending on what year & revision level of the manuals you look at) have the info.

Mine has been getting noisier over time (19,500 miles). I have only noticed the extra wind noise in the last thousand miles or so. In fact, I was poking at the seal around the door jsut this morning, trying to find the source of the noise.

I have not tried backing the window down a bit to get a better seal, but I will try that later today.

Mine does the exact same thing with the passenger side rear door. Tap the window down a hair, and it goes away

My temporary fix is to tap the window button very fast about a 1/4 second,
it takes practice to get it right. When it warms up and I get bored enough I will document a fix and email it to
anyone who needs it, provided you have the same problem and the button tap down works for you.

I have the same problem with my 07 Odyssey.....it is certainly the seal, but I am out of warranty. I have been tapping the window down a hair for months to stop the whistle. I will also wait until the weather warms up and take a closer look.....been frigid here this winter.....can hardly wait for spring. :(

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Car is going in for service for the air leak on March 23rd---service tech states they will keep my car for a few days till they solve the problem--getting an 11 Genesis for a loaner. Will update after service

Most windows stop rising when they sense resistance. I'm wondering whether a thin strip of rubber inserted into the very top of the seal slot would cause the window to sense resistance and stop just a hair earlier to get rid of the whistle.

It can't be great on the switch to be continuously bumping the window down to avoid the whistle.

I noticed that the interference is in the front of the window and when it goes up all the way it rotates CW slightly, I was going to do exactly as you stated at the top 6 to 8". I measured the window and it is .200 thick the groove is much wider about .280, Going to pin it today and try something, will post results when finished.

Went in for service and they replaced the rubber moulding that the window seals against. Will drive for the weekend and report. They reserved a loaner Genny for me but the person before me did not return it on time so I got a rental from Enterprise. Hope this works.

I think it is repaired. Been driving all weekend and the air noise is not present. They replaced the window run channel and adjusted the window regulator under warranty.

At first when I saw this post I thought it was invaders from the Lexus sight. As a former owner of a New 2007 Lexus LS460 I can tell you that wind noise problem from the front side windows was a major problem for myself and many owners of the LS460. Even after Lexus released several TSB that involved replacing windows,moldings,etc....for some the wind noise persisted. Many owners have tried to make repairs on their own which I think for a $73,000- $90,000 car is ridiculous. There are owners of the 2011 Lexus LS460 that say the wind noise problem still persist. I have had no wind noise problems with my Genesis and in many ways I find my Genesis to be just as quiet as the Lexus LS460. If you have wind noise at one of the windows it is best to let the dealer deal with it so that they can perform a proper fix. It may be a documented problem if not they can documented so if there is not a fix that may be a TSB can be released at a later date. IMO If your car is under warranty it is better to let the dealer do the repairs unless it is a little something that you can save time doing yourself.

The whistle is gone (for now)

Today, it suddenly occurred to me that I had not recently needed to bump the driver's side window switch to stop the wind whistle.

What has changed is the weather. It has been at or near 100 degrees here for the past 6 weeks. Even the garage is hot.

There is no wind noise now and I can not even get any noise until the glass moves down enough to see a crack.

While playing around with it, I do not see the frame motion when the glass is run fully up that I saw in cooler weather.
