  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just purchased a 2012 3.8L and am very happy with it. However, I get a regular buzzing and vibration in the driver's window area that is caused by music (particularly bass).

The vibration begins to occur at lower volume levels (beginning around 8 or so) and even if the bass setting is adjusted to the lower threshold.

The vibration is causing me to turn down the music much lower than I would like and therefore, missing out of the richness of the sound system.

Any thoughts or recommendations? Anyone else experienced this?

Sounds like you may have a blown speaker in the door. I would bring it to the dealer and have it checked out.

FYI, 8 is not a low volume level. ,-)

Take it to dealer.

The volume scale on the car is 0-35, so the 8 is relatively low. (if we were talking 0-10 scale or even 11 if you are a Spinal Tap fan, then you would be right).

I think this an issue on all Genesis, I hear it in my car (vibration in the window and such) and also heard it in a brand new R-Spec when I was testing it out from the same song that had the certain bass that triggered it.

UPDATE: Dealer fixed the problem at my first service visit. The tech took apart the window panel said it was the "window regulator". He said it was much louder once he took the panel off. He replaced that part and the buzzing is now gone.
