  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I happened to be leading my dad (driving my '08 Azera Ultimate) in his new Equus Ultimate this past week and noticed that when he used his turn signal, the corresponding head-light (DRL, I suppose actually) would go out.

Is that the intended/expected behavior?

Intended, possibly by law. Designed so as not to "wash out" your turn signal. To make it more visible, hence safer.

That is correct. The Daytime Running Lamp (DRL) goes off when the LED turn signal is activated so that you do not wash out the turn signal.

I have been screaming at Hyundai for years to bring DRL's to the US market on their models sold here. Kudos to them for finally doing it.

I've noticed recent Audi and Chrysler products do this as well.
I don't like it personally, but it appears to be a trend much like LED DRL's.

Well to Hyundai's defense, my 2010 Lexus IS DRL does NOT turn off when I activate the corresponding turn indicator and this makes the indicator hard to see under the DRL that remains lit.

What are the odds of putting the 2012 lights in our Genesis and what would it take to get the the DRL's to work? It is my understanding that our cars are wired but the fuse or relay is not there.
I have seen were some owners are saying they would like to have the 2012 lights but now that they will DRL's I do not see how that would work.
