  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

A source at a dealership told me that if you remove a certain fuse, the DVD video will still play when you shift the gears from park to drive. (He doesn't know which one) Does anyone know which fuse to remove and will it deactivate anything else that may be important? If you are afraid to respond publicly, please PM me.

As a driver, I wouldn't watch but it would be nice if the passengers could watch a video on a long trip.

Unless this guy is wiling to name the fuse, this is HIGHLY unlikely. The whole DIS system is software controlled. This interlock system is not one that can be defeated by cutting/removing a wire or removing power from something.

That is what I assumed also, but he said he was at a regional seminar for the Genesis and said it was discussed that this safety feature could be disabled by removing a fuse. Which fuse? He wasn't sure...this is why I was asking if anyone had heard of this.

I've notice that while driving, listening to a DVD-video/audio and say I press XM or FM or even the map button etc., in the process of switching over I get a sec of video on the screen (from DVD) before the switch over.

I, too, would be curious as to the possibilty of seeing video while driving. Generally it would not be for me. I travel frequently and more often than not have a passenger along for the ride of trips that are about 1 to 2 hours in length. It would be great to have something for them to do other than bug me or have me get annoyed with them constantly playing around with the DIS controls! Any update on this? Don't want to install a piece of technology that may void warranty or such like that NAV-TV... too risky
