Good news is that is makes good torque across the REV band.

Bad news is that is doesn't make a whole lot of power to the ground.

I'll get a picture tomorrow, but it make

223rwhp and 216ft-lb of torque.
 
Based on my seat-of-the-pants test drives of the Genesis V6, those numbers are surprising to me. Assuming Hyundai's 290 hp rating is correct, the figures you post would indicate very high parasitic losses through the drive train. I have a Volvo T6 (281 hp). A friend of mine has the same engine and had his dynoed and came out with 257 hp at the front wheels (the car is AWD 95% front 5% rear). I would think the Genesis would fair better (if not much better) having more initial hp and no AWD to contend with. Can't wait to see your graphs.

Just curious, but what method did you use for disabling the ESC when doing the dyno run?

As has been pointed out all over this (and others) forum, the button does not actually disable it, it merely makes it a little less aggressive.

I think that 24% loss is a bit on the high side for a modern vehicle. Here is a link to a Tech article on Edmonds. It states that most experts agree that 10-15% losses are normal. They do cite a couple examples of cars that have higher losses due to additional friction in the drive train. Bottom line, is that it "is what it is."

Weird. My Genesis feels every bit as fast as my GS430. In fact, I've often wondered if the V6 isn't a bit underrated given how close the acceleration times are to the V8.
 
You must also realize that dyno to dyno comparisons are a bit worthless. They do give you some idea, but they are not identical.

Its funny when I took it to the drag races, i did a 14.5 @99, which shows about 250ish rwhp with this weight.

I think that is closer to actual than the result of the above posted Dyno. And more in-line with what the seat of my pants says. The car simply could not move as well as it does if that dyno posted above is accurate. I would complain to the owners and ask for my money back or another run after the machine has been calibrated. Of course it is possible that the poster simply got an "off" V6. That would suck.
