  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Question...could one paint their brake calipers with that stuff? Like the red Brembos, etc.

Um....why? Your hood made of glass?

Yeah, I don't see the purpose of it at all.

Because it is his car and he likes it and thought he would share with others who may like it. And when he opens the hood to show his friends - BAM! a hint of colour.:good:

I think it would look great colour matched to the colour of the car in the case of the red or the blue colors etc.

Who opens the hood of their car to show them the engine of said car unless it's maybe a super classic hot rod. :)

It's the first thing we ask to see, in my family and circle of friends, when someone shows us their new ride.
CEL.webp We like to see the plumbing before we take a ride!:drive:

And again - it's his car and if that's what puts a smile on his face, then that's his call to make.

You obviously don’t own the G70 or you’d be popping the hood every time someone wants to see the car.
I don't. There's nothing to see under there.

Ahh, many gearheads do. Some of us like to look at what makes it go. Some appreciate the engineering that goes into a power plant. Obviously, he did not do it to please you, but it pleases him.

I have a can of blue paint left over when I did a touch up on one of my cars. I may do the same as it is a close match to my present car. .

Exactly......thx

Why did Genesis bother to put logos there, like the prominent "Turbo" lettering in a contrasting color? Why did they bother to introduce some design elements into the engine cover?

True, some people will never look under the hood. But others will. When I test drive cars, I always have them pop the hood so I can see the power plant. Partly, that's practical, to see where the oil filler windshield washer reservoir, etc. are and whether they're accessible. But I also like to see a neat and attractive layout.

This actually makes me realize I have yet to open my hood since I bought the car! I think I will do that tonight just to take a look. I am more than half way to my first oil change so I guess I should check the oil... :)

Ditto. I should at least check where I'm going to have to add windshield fluid.

Definitely worth popping it, if for no other reason than to enjoy how light the aluminum hood is!

I just like opening the hood to show off the tiny little turbos. They're cute and fun!
