  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

3.3T Ecu tune

Just a small update. I asked Scott (from PRESSERTech) about any changes to torque limits, and he said that it's one of the first things they do.

Considering all of the info I've gathered, it really sounds like the PRESSERTech tune is quite the comprehensive overhaul. With it we can potentially see very high, almost maxed out boost level, use large gapped spark plugs, have access to more power when at low speeds (due to torque limits being raised), and have potentially quicker shifts - all while still keeping a responsible level of safety intact.

Their tune isn't cheap, but the more I hear about it, the more I like it. It also is helpful for them to be so responsive to my questions.
ive been doing a lot of research on kagan and that tune seems rock solid as well. im not sure when they plan to release their stage 2 but id be very interested. id even assume their stage 1 would probably relate to a quicker et even if it is less boost than map 5 or 7 that i use for the track. the shifts will probably make up more time than the extra boost. if i didnt have to send in my ecu and they had obd flash available i probably would have already bought it.

I don't understand your comment on using larger gapped plugs. When you add boost/power you have to lower the gap to prevent spark blow out. Doesn't matter what or who the tune is from.

The tuner can adjust things in correlation for the spark itself that prevent the blow out on the amount of boost being used. And from what I’ve been reading on these tunes is the stage one is actually adding less boost than the jb4 map1(which does not need gapped plugs) and still creating more power due to other parameters being adjusted that a piggy back simply can’t do

Evidently a flash tune can increase the spark dwell time, which results in more consistent ignition despite increased cylinder pressures and turbulence. This means a larger, factory, gap can be kept even with increased boost. The Tork flash specifically mentions this, and the PRESSERTech tune infers it.

I assume there could be a downside to this....perhaps more wear on the coils and maybe even the plugs themselves? Just a guess on my part. I don't think there is enough test data showing anything conclusive yet.

Tork posted this earlier today. Thats a record for all the 1/4 mile times I have seen.

Is that really 11.39 sec for the 1/4 mile ????...wow.

Yup. And if you look at the 60ft time, theres more to be had. Tim has run lower 60 fts in dry weather.

Why did he crop the DA info?

no clue...I noticed a lot of Android Dragy screen caps look like that. I don’t know if its a crop as much as maybe a setting considering you can see the battery life and other info at the top of the screen. I dont see that option for me on iOS

I’m sure it’s the same as all his other ones, not like he drove somewhere else to get a better time. Just weird like you said, that it looks cropped but not. Android confuses me, I’m iOS too

Impressive, to say the least.

Impressive, to say the least. I wonder if that's his n2o time? Or his beta Stage 2 tune?
I too am interested. He also posted some new burnout mode vids. But not much detail. Its really unfortunate his people skills seem to be on the low end because it seems he has made the most progress with the ECU.

Actually, now that I think about it, last I heard Tonka is using a custom Tork flash with the JB4 to utilize WMI. Maybe he got things all dialed in now, and/or got an updated flash.

Now that you mention that I remember reading that. Wasn’t he running like 1.5 stage stacked with jb4/wmi?

Looks like he also got a 3.70 0-60 this morning too. His car is a beast
