Hey Everyone - first post. I have been looking at the eGV70 for a while and have finally decided to take the plunge. I found a 2023 Prestige in the color combo I wanted in Louisiana (I'm in Houston) so not too far away. I am looking at leasing to take advantage of the $7500 credit - the dealer is offering me an additional $4000 off the sticker price - from my limited experience with other dealers, these seems like a good offer - what say you the experts ?

Well boys, since my dealer is ??? on when I might expect the GV70ev(maybe next year???)...I'm shopping around some more as other cars of interest are hitting the market. So, I'm on the list to receive a MB450h+ (PHEV) and dealer says could be as soon as October...got it all spec'ed out...pretty much all options coming in around $20 grand more than the Genesis...this is my wife's #1 pick.., her #2 pick is the Lexus RX450h+(PHEV)about the same price as GV70...and for her the Genesis is way down the list. She did see the car once and "just another Hyundai"...her comments. Since our current Lexus RX is still going strong, I might have to bail on the Genesis...but I'll hang on to the reservation in the meantime. I'll also stay in this group until that time...great advise and stories here.

Good luck with that. My wife drove three RXs over the past 15 years, including an Rx450h, and thought she wanted another. But she was completely sold on the eGV70 Prestige after driving it. Opinions do vary.

18s will work. Genesis sells an 18" winter set. I've test fitted 18s that I have and they clear, kind of.
To SS's point, the wheels that I have are +42 offset and they don't clear so I'm adding 3 mm spacers. +30-35 would be ideal.

So, even though I got the 18” wheels to fit there’s not enough clearance between the caliper and inside of the wheel for my comfort. The wheel weights clear the caliper by 1-2 mm. 19” wheels will be ordered shortly and will fit fine.

Sounds like a steal. I haven't heard of anyone getting any sort of a discount directly off sticker until now. Was it a demo?

Nope….it has 5 miles on it. No dealers here in Houston would even consider a discount, that’s why I expanded my search. I keep waiting for them to say they messed up, but so far they are sticking with their offer. I will do the paperwork next week

Is it the 2023 or 2024? The models are the same really but now they have some 2023 inventory & that's what ended up happening when we moved ours to a lease. Got the $7500 plus additional office because the week after they announced the 2024s.

Probably won't change her mind, but tell her that the RX is a tarted-up FWD Highlander, whereas the Genesis is on a bespoke RWD platform like Mercedes and BMW.

Not sure your Genesis meets the classification of a "Bespoke" vehicle...nor do the MB or BMW I'm considering. The Lexus RX450h+ is a tad better equuiped than a Highlander...and only comes fully loaded(this model is only built in Japan for Canada)...similar to the way Genesis is selling the GV70ev in Canada...basically no options, and for us it's built in Korea....not USA. As dealer is in the dark on my order...I'll just continue to see what else is coming to the market....I gather the usa is seeing lots of unsold MB EQE's....and manufacturer's discounts up to $10,000 are at some dealers....this could tempt me up here, no deals so far.

I wasn't asking the cost. I was asking the speed of the 50kW charger when I said rate. If I knew how fast 50KW and 62KW chargers were that would tremendously help determine how long a stop would be given how much charge I have left. Example: 350KW charger in reality only goes up to a charging speed of about 250kW. I have not read one example of someone actually getting 350KW.

Sorry for the late answer, I tried a 50KW charger and went from 60 to 80% charge in 20 minutes, was getting the full 50KW all along.

On a 180KW charger the car went from 47% to 80% in 13 minutes, that was a good deal more convenient. Never tried a 350KW charger (Still hard to find), also I prefer home charging and only needed high speed charging on one trip.

Anything at 50KW and up is Level 3 charging, home charging at 9KW on a 240V is Level 2, and Level 1 is your house plug that will probably overheat before the end of the 3 days you'd need to refill an empty battery...

Got that email too, but thanks for sharing. I was expecting it because the Ioniq5 and EV6 got recalled previously too, and it's the same hardware in the eGV70...

Sweet! I think it’s a good deal. I had about $2000 off the MSRP for my 2023 egv70 (I also leased). The exterior color wasn’t my preference, I was waiting on a Maluku grey but I really wanted the white interior and I wasn’t seeing one not in limbo of transit in the mid Atlantic region. Enjoy!

Thanks for that info! Much appreciated! I've ordered the same rims and tires from Costco this wekeend - they had a sale on for both ($150 off for the rims and $120 for the tires). One more question though - when they installed these wheels to test the fit - were they able to use your OEM lug bolts or did you need to purchase a different set of bolts in order for these to attach properly to the hubs? I've heard that many aftermarket rims use a conical bolt set-up but the Genesis OEM bolts are a ball style.

Bought “Fast” winter wheels from Wheelwiz. 19 x 8 +35 and there’s about 8 mm clearance, which is fine.

Got email today, that my GV70ev is built and on a ship to Vancouver...they say 5 to 6 weeks before I receive it. They bumped the price to $85,000 cnd plus taxes as its a 2024 model built in Korea...so much from my price guarantee. Dealer does not know what changes have been made to this model year...but assume very little....so, if anyone knows? So...decision time is looming on whether I take it...right now 50/50 on actually buying it.

They used the original lug nuts, I did not have any other lugs with me.

$1,000 increase over the 2023 model year! That's not bad.
I love our 2023 GV70e. It is a terrific vehicle; I think the nicestI have ever owned. You certainly won't regret buying it.

great to hear you like the vehicle...asking dealer as to what is changed and so far no answer. Also hard to compared the USA built GV70ev and the Korea one coming to Canada...things like the battery pack could be very different and from different supplier. Have to see once it arrives.

They are a very attractive wheel...but so are the 20" OEM wheels.
I love the way my GV70e rides with the 20" wheels. Perhaps it is because the camera can watch for bumps and adjust the ride. We have several speed bumps in our neighbourhood and I like the way I can slow down as I approach with the regenerative braking, smoothly go over the bump, then accelerate. Going for a larger wheel may affect the smooth ride.
