  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Electric GV70

Hello all,
I bought my GV70E on Friday and I was wondering how you all got set up for the Electrify America (in USA obviously) free charging partnership? I think my dealer salesperson said he would get a code sent to him that he would email that to me. Is this standard operating procedure?

Sigh, yet another example of things we don't get in Canada.

They made sure to setup electrify America for me at the dealership as there is in fact a custom code they need to give you (along with your vin). They should have already had that in hand though.

Thank you for this info. I actually called EA and they looked up my info and gave me the code. My dealer’s associates are nice but not the most up to date on the Genesis EV info. Genesis Corporate did try to cover for them and say they may not have had it as it has to be sent out to them or something

I am a new purchaser so I’m learning. Is or did anyone have trouble understanding when the vehicle is off/on. I’ve gotten an alert several times saying my gv70e has been on for 15 min and needs to be turned off. Also, is there any way to remotely turn it off?

Thanks

I have no issues with this. How are you turning the car off when you exit? Are you placing it in park & then pressing the start/stop button?
I know with electric cars it can seem strange since it's silent but with a normal routine, you won't have that happen to much longer.

I had a hybrid back in 2017 so I had similar experiences but the engine would kick in after a few minutes of being idle so that was my "notification".
Pro-tip: I have the music chime on so when I power it off, it plays a little music (you can find that in your settings). This gives you that audible "yea it's off" mental note that may help retrain you.

I believe the remote "stop" feature is climate based & not motor based but I have not tried that yet so I don't know if you can remotely shut it completely off yet. I will have to play with the features a bit.

I’m surprised there isn’t a similar Electrify Canada partnership
The nearest EC station is 300 km from me. I’m not too put out.

Just picked it up! Absolutely loving it. Will post pictures later, but kudos to Genesis for making improvements to the all-weather mats. Might seem trivial but the ones on my new car are far easier to install than in the previous GV70s (and GV80 for that matter). The grommets on the mats fit far better onto the floor mounted hooks making it much easier to install and remove. Also, the one long mat for the rear passengers don't even use the hooks at all. There's now a dome-shaped section that the hooks fit under to make installation and removal easier than ever before.

Yeah it's a weird thing to focus on but just wanted to mention it.

Congratulations, we want pictures! 😉

Last week-end I was driving in the middle lane on the highway when I noticed a Makalu Grey GV70 coming in my left side mirror and noticed it was also an electric one - First time I spotted one in the wild! The driver came next to me, waved, I waved too and he then went faster as I was slowing and approaching my exit, it was unusual but funny...

So far this is the car I enjoyed the most and I just wish you the same!

Thanks! The electric version is just so ridiculously smooth. And to the uninitiated, it's not immediately obvious that it's an EV, which is something I really like. I didn't get this for virtue signaling. I'd rather no one even knew it's an EV.

I'm not fond either of this trend to make EV's look like spaceships. The gas version of the GV70 looks really nice, and I'm very happy with the minimalist changes brought to the EV (Cleaner in my view with the removal of all this black plastic cladding from both bumpers).

The interior is superb, and finally an EV with a normal looking dash! I can't stand all these big tablets glued in the middle (Tesla, Mach-e and the list goes on...), where cost-cutting is sold as innovation - I'm sorry but turning a GV70's temp dial one way or the other will get you the desired temperature faster than any menu-digging on a touchscreen or even voice command!

Also, I'm not a fan of door-to-door screens on a dash like Mercedes likes to offer on its jellybean-shaped EV's. Yes, it's eye-catching at first, but then you realize it's just glass, simply a larger version of your phone, and suddenly when you compare with all the leather-covered surfaces on the GV70's dash, it doesn't scream luxury so much anymore.

Nothing's perfect, I'd rather have a standard than rotary shifter, but other than that there's nothing I'd change in that cabin (Except maybe grant the passenger seat with the massage function as well as the touch controls that display on the screen what seat setting you're about to change, just like on the driver side...😉).

I agree 100%. I don't mind the rotary shifter, but I would prefer the push button shifter like on our Palisade. I think I would prefer a black headliner as well, also like in our Palisade and on the MBGLC 43 that I just traded off.

The smoothness and acceleration are amazing.

Just a couple of quick and dirty snapshots.

Agreed on both accounts. Another improvement would be not having to confirm driver profile every time the car is started.

What happens if you don't? Will it just default to the last driver? In my Sonata it does, but I only have one driver.

Correct, it stays on the most recent profile used.

SS what is the part number of the all weather mats? Thanks
