  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

After driving the eGV70 for a couple of days, what can I say....it's simply AWESOME!

As much as I loved the 3.5T GV70s I had before, this thing is truly on another level. It's so utterly unassuming that nobody knows it's an EV. It's pretty funny when you hear your unsuspecting passengers literally gasp when you apply even just 40% throttle in Sport mods as the car just accelerates at warp speed.

Like a lot of EV-naysayers, I had always found it easy to dismiss the idea of going electric because I loved the V6, V8, V10, flat-6, and Turbo inline-5, etc engines I've been lucky enough to own. But this eGV70 is such a perfect package of understatement, creature comfort, instant power delivery, practicality and affordability that it's easy to recommend others to give it a try.

Throwing in one more quick snapshot taken earlier this evening in rainy Vancouver.

A heads up regarding regen braking and no brake lights. This needs to be addressed.

Thanks for this. It's something I discussed with the sales manager after my initial test drive a few months back, but I was assured the negative G sensors met all government safety requirements. I do catch myself glancing at my car's reflection in shop windows as I'm decelerating just to see if the brake lights really do come on, and as far as i can tell, they do. I am driving on regen level 2 most of the time.

The article does bring up the fact that gas powered cars can have the same "problem" if the driver downshifts to slow the car down, which is what I've always done in previous cars, especially sports cars.

Maybe Genesis should add a feature where the image of the car in the instrument display lights up the brake lights when the actual brake lights have been activated while lifting off under any level of regen, the way Tesla does it.

I just installed a Emporia Level 2 Charger. First charge was 435 km on 100% charge. Then I realize it was only set to 40 amps and my Max capacity is 48 amps. I changed the setting and my next to charges only got me 375 km's at 100%? Anyone else experience this?

The expected range has nothing to do with the charge rate. It is based the on efficiency of recent driving. Also, I get way better efficiency in city driving than I do at high speeds.

Maybe check your climate controls?

I am learning as I go, did a recent road trip of under 300km's return. Left with a full charge of 380km and barely made it back.

It was 375km at a !00% charge before I left the driveway.
Pretty sure the expected range is calculated on current or most recent usage/driving pattern. It will adjust once you start driving and make any changes to the AC controls, or you put it in Sport more frequently or use Boost a few more times, etc.

On a separate note, what software version do you eGV70 owners have on your car?

Mine is JK1.CAN.P6.001.005221122.

I had a similar experience. 71% SOC and reported 340 km range. Needed to make a 300 km return trip and couldn’t make it without a charge - at a Ford dealer on a 50 kW charger after waiting for 20 min for a MachE to finish… The expected range was based on the city driving I had done and as soon as I was driving at 125 kmh into a 30 km head wind all the rosy range numbers went out the window.

Just looking at the range meter screen and you will see the numbers changing as you switch modes between Eco, Comfort and Sport too...

For US buyers (not lease), what’s the latest on the purchase $7,500 tax credit for the GV70 EV?

I know it lost it in April (harsh for an EV made in Alabama), and there are efforts to appeal that or change the battery supply components. Any chance it will be back on the list this year. Or is it pretty much gave over this year and we have to look to future years and guidance.
Sorry I'm bumping up an old question, but I thought this might be an interesting read (If you're open to leasing...)!

That's a beauty!

I feel the same driving this, I'd say lucky and privileged to have the chance of getting my hands on one.

I give rides and test drives to friends and family, trying to get them to consider going electric for their next car, using the GV70 to become an EV advocate, and planting the seeds of the possibility for them to make the swith for their next vehicle. One convert at a time...😉

Fun fact: My wife and I flew Montreal to Vancouver on our honeymoon, spent 3 days there before boarding for an Alaska cruise. We did enjoy that city...!

My Dealer in Langley BC can not tell me where I am on the "List" to receive the GV70ev. Best they can do is advise me once it's on the build list in South Korea....and then, would go to the shipping and off to Vancouver. Someone said they knew where they were on the list? With the few numbers being allocated to Canada...I might be into 2024 before I receive...with ??? changes.

I was lucky enough to put my order early March and get it delivered end of May, but when I received it I asked my salesrep how long someone would wait if an order was done that day, and his answer was: One year.

I think it has to do with having only 484 units allocated to Canada for the first year of production, however I suspect 2024's are going to start coming in later this year.

He also mentioned the new U.S. plant has just started production recently and have not ramped up production yet, the expectation being that once it runs at full capacity it would also be able to supply the Canadian market, shortening delays, but that's still speculation at this point.

When did you put in your order?
