  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Electric GV70

Finally test drove one today and we’ve decided to go ahead with the purchase. Delivery is set for next Saturday. It’s very refined and the quality appears to be right up there with the German cars. Other than range, it blows the Model Y away in every regard. Not even close. Very impressed. It will take some time to figure out all the tech but my wife commented that it’s intuitive. I think we’re at peak acceleration. I came away thinking that at no point would I want a faster car than this. Never thought I’d say that.

The only accessory that I opted for is the rear seat cover for dogs. I’ll go with Tuxmat or WeatherTech for winter mats as the Genesis ones won’t hold water well.

I’m going with 18” winter wheels and the tires I’ve got for the Audi are the same size. I found hub centric (67.1 FWIW) wheels at Canadian Tire for 180 ea, so that looks like the best approach. The 18” package through Genesis is $2500-2700 depending on tire brand.

PPF will go on as soon as I take delivery.

So I guess it:

1: wasn’t too expensive
2: is cool enough, even compared to more expensive cars
3: didn’t have ADM
4: offered at least a decent dealership experience
5: is maybe gonna sell okay…you bought one after all…

So you’re 0-for your first post.

Lol yeah dude I said I could be wrong. I just don't think I'm the typical buyer. I still think the car is relatively overpriced, and I don't think it will be as popular as some of its competitors. But at MSRP, it's the right car for my situation. If I'm wrong, that's fine whatever. Still not a troll post. Everyone else feel free to come in here and say mean things about my car. It won't hurt my feelings. 🤣

Enjoy the car, regardless.

Thanks! I'll post pictures after I pick it up.

Its competitors are generally more expensive and few have equivalent technology or interior quality IMO.

We’ll see how it does, but unless the buyer is a badge snob, Genesis’ SUVs present compelling cases for themselves in the luxury market. They’re thick on the ground in my neck of the woods…

Huge congratulations!! Post some pictures when you have a chance.

I was at the dealership today and I also ordered a GV60 Performance. My GV70 electric is going to be a June build, which means it'll arrive sometime in July.

Have you checked out the 3D MAXpiderMat Floor liners? That is what I have in both my MB and Palisade. They fit beautifully, give good coverage and look less utilitarian than some of the floor liners I have seen. I purchased mine from Costco but they are probably available elsewhere.

I wonder how well any liners may fit until they have them specifically for the GV70e? I'm not sure about the front seat area but I know the back seat floor is slightly higher on the electric vs. the ICE model.

I will also be looking at some small mud flaps. Again, I think there is a difference between the mud flaps for the 4 cylinder vs. V6 model so I'm not sure which ones will be required for the electric model.

I saw a YouTube video review of the electric GV70 in the UK and BOTH front seats have Ergo Motion. What's up with that???

2 week back I had a Genesis GV70 Electrified all reserved in at a dealer California and I was gonna get it shipped to FL where I live but the day it arrived I learned from me calling Genesis corporate to double check that the dealership was wrong when they said I could get it serviced by a local dealer or Genesis would pay to get it serviced somewhere. Only EV certified dealers can do EC service or even order EV parts and I would have to pay to get it close to the nearest one which is in Atlanta.

I even went to the local Hyundai/Genesis dealer here and they too said they could service the EV, even get parts. I asked them how many Genesis EVs they have worked on before and its a total sum of 0.

I had to cancel my reservation and got my deposit back. They were trying to charge me a $5K mark up above MSRP anyway but its such a new vehicle I'm not sure if thats reasonable or if I could have negotiated it down before the sale but it was overall disappointing.

I'm not sure when FL is going to be added to their Genesis EV market but I would love it to be soon. I haven't found another EV that I want under $85K USD so I'm kinda lost smh.

Hopefully they'll be able to sell and service electric GV70s in your state soon. It's really a fantastic car.

Took delivery yesterday. Couldn’t be more impressed with the car. Yes, you can light up the tires in boost mode on dry pavement. Another benefit in going EV is not having to wait for the engine break-in like on an ICE car. There’s a lot to learn.

Just picked up mine on Friday in Makalu Gray with black interior here in Canada - beautiful car - so luxurious, fast and efficient! Signed up for this group to see if anyone with an Electrified GV70 has tried out the Weathertech front and rear floor and rear cargo mats from the regular GV70 to see if they will fit in the electric model? I'd like to order some but not sure if the floor-plan is different. Or perhaps there is another brand other than Weathertech that people would recommend? Thanks for your help!

Congratulations. I’m waiting for the Tuxmats to come available. I think all mats will fit fine in the front. The issue is with any “over the hump” mats for the rear. The EV has a reduced hump height when compared with the ICE car. The cargo area mat should fit, but I’m going to wait for the mat manufacturers to confirm. Just happy winter is done so we’ve got some time for the manufacturers to get it figured out before next winter.

Thanks for teh

Thanks for the advice - was not aware that the rear hump was different and there may be issues with the cargo area too. I guess I should likely wait until they have official "Electrified" GV70 mats available - whether it's Tuxmat, Weathertech or another brand - before ordering. As you say - good thing winter is over so we have some time before they're really needed.

Congratulations on your new ride. Your delivery date estimate was spot on. How do you like the black interior? The 4 units my local dealer (Langley, BC) have taken delivery of, including their demo unit, have all had the white interior. I ordered mine with the black interior. It should be here within the next 2-3 weeks as it is currently "at sea".
Was your build date pre-order or after?
Let us know when the Tuxmats become available.

Congratulations on your new ride and welcome to the forum.
Where are you located in Canada?
Regarding floor mats, another suggestion is in my April 8 post #85, in this thread.

The black is great. Good quality leather. And I like the grey piping. Build date of February and ordered in February.

Mine will be the same colour combo you have. Congrats!

I just checked the Tuxmat.ca website. Floormats for the GV70e are now available for pre-order. $256.80 CAD. You can fill in a request form on their web-site and they will advise when ready. The pictures look very nice. I think even nicer than the 3D Maxpider mats that I have in my current vehicles. IMO the Weathertech are to utilitarian looking, especially for a luxury vehicle like the GV70e.

Wow, you say your vehicle has arrived at the Vancouver port already! My sales rep says I should be in the first 100 as I ordered mine on day 1. Yet they haven't had any email, at least that they are telling me with an allocation number. I just called him and he will check on Tuesday when he is back at work and let me know.

I will have to get busy and advertise the vehicle I am selling to purchase the GV70e. It is a 2018 MB GLC43 AMG with only 32K km. In mint condition. Selenite grey with black leather interior and red stitching.

To Ron G,
I also have a Mercedes GLC 43AMG (2017) that I just sold and replacing it with a GV70ev, Prestige, Makalu Grey gloss, White Int. Having to fly down to LA from the Bay Area this coming Friday to get one, the only one I could find in CA and at MSRP. Also have a Kia EV6, liked it so much
that the Genesis will complete the all electric fleet.

Well, I got my Charger installed today. Now I'm anxiously waiting to get the vehicle to try it out. Hopefully soon. I purchased the GRIZZL-E EV Charger. They are made in Canada and came highly recommended by my Genesis dealer.
