  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Electric GV70

Interesting I got a call from dealer...saying if I want to switch my order to a silver with black interior there will be a bunch coming to Vancouver, as customers are backing out of orders for these ones...my order is for the grey. Not sure if that is the only reason these are now becoming available?

I don't believe so. In fact, of all the blind spot-related warnings, the cameras are the ones I rely on least. Not sure if others feel the same.
Absolutely. The camera view never gets used. Mirrors, indicator on mirrors and HUD are more than enough.

People are backing out of their Silver on Black orders because they're seeing how awesome matte Makalu Gray looks! Just kidding.

Coincidentally, the Savile Silver on Black demo that I posted pictures of on the first couple of pages of this thread is currently available for sale!

Not to mention the audible warning that you'll hear if you activate a turn signal and there is indeed something in your blindspot. I rather appreciate this redundancy.

Yes...your Matte grey looks amazing...I'm going for the gloss if it ever gets here.

Patients is a virtue, as my doctor used to say.

I know one does not simply walk into Mordor, but yesterday's firey orange sunset made it seem like I was driving a Genesis straight towards Sauron.

Has anyone bought after market wheels for their gv70 EV? Interested in what people have found that are 20” or smaller. Not interested in going bigger.

I only got a set of 18" with winter tires from the dealership (The kind of black wheels with Y-shaped branches as seen on the Genesis brochure), I have yet to see them on the car come this fall. They had 19's too, but with the loss of range in winter I wanted to offset that with smaller wheels. You're right not to want to go bigger, it would come with a range penalty.

I really like the 20's design though and won't change them ever...! 😉

I’ve heard some people question if 18” wheels will clear the large front brake calipers. Sounds like they must.

They have it, I was trying to get some GV60 wheels for my winter tires (With a more aerodynamic design to help with range), but those didn't fit with GV70 calipers, so yes you have to be careful with that.

I tried some 18-in rims for winter tires. They barely cleared the larger calipers covers, we're talking eighth of an inch Max. Ended up getting some 19-in rims.

Do you mind sharing which 19” wheels you got?

When the rims arrived, I went to Costco tire dept. and they installed one rim to guarantee the fit before installing the winter tires.

I spent a lot of time researching winter tires and rims. The car is so new, most sites did not have it in their system. Went to several tire shops and really had no idea also. In the four months of owing the GV70 EV, I have not seen an another one on the streets!

Thank you!

I’m in the same boat. Can’t find info anywhere on wheels/rims. I also have yet to see another one in Utah.

I did see one, I was in the middle lane of a highway, he came in the left, slowed down next to me, waved at me (I waved back laughing), and he took off just as I was arriving at my exit. That was the only encounter I had so far.

Twice ICE GV70's slowed almost to a crawl to take a very long look at my car, so I'd say the car is generating interest (GV70's are not that common a sight yet), which probably bodes well for future sales of the electrified version.

I also have a GV70 EV and have started to look into winter tire options. Would you mind sharing what size tire goes with that rim that you ordered from Costco? Also - did you also order TPMS sensors from Costco or are you getting them from somewhere else? Thanks!

MICHELIN X-ICE SNOW 235/55R19 105HXL, did not get TPMS on the rims.

I'm not sure why it took me 4 GV70s to figure this out, but once you've installed the cargo cover, the now-empty recessed storage area is perfect for putting an umbrella!
