  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Electric GV70

Hi Wrigbay, great question. I did consider that, but even if you could get the same satin effect with a wrap, I am already a little bored with the black interior on the current Uyuni White one we have. The white interior on the Makalu Gray, however, is holding up incredibly well after 7,000 km. So I'm getting the white interior on the Matterhorn White one. Should be taking delivery on Wednesday.
I love white interior! Had it in a red Camaro SS a few years ago. Wish my Matte Barossa Burgundy had white interior.

Wow, just in time for Christmas! Congrats!

Originally I was eying the green interior, but when it wasn't made available for the North American market, I had to fall back on the two available colors. Coming from a car with a black interior, I wanted to change... Got to say it makes the cabin look very airy, and the seats are not burning hot in the summer! 👍

I have the Makalu Gray with the White interior, I originally wanted the lighter silver but did not have a choice. It's a constant challange to keep it clean. Doesn't help that I have two 90lb puppies in the car at least three times a week.

What colour is your interior, SirJangle? Got any pics?

Yeah I wish we had more colour options (as well as actual feature options) available for the North American market. I don't recall now whether it was in the UK or in Australia (but I'm sure they have it in Korea), but they can actually spec the car to have Ergo Motion for the front passenger seat too! Man, I would love to have that option here.

It's black with white stitching with the black headliner. Very nice but I like the contrast that white offers. Sorry, no pics.

Lol, having two dogs is gonna make it difficult to keep ANY colour interior clean my friend. So far, our white interior hasn't had any cleanliness issues. Fingers crossed.

No worries, I know which one youre referring to now. The contrast stitching is already super nice.

You're right, I wish my wife could enjoy it too while I'm driving! I've seen the forest green interior in the UK, Australia, pretty much anywhere but here.

A few weeks ago we went to the border for Nexus interviews, then went shopping to Plattsburgh (No deals to be had there at the current exchange rate), then when we crossed back the border I was wondering why it was taking that long to reach 90... The car was in Eco mode, not really feeling sluggish, but the numbers weren't spinning up as fast as usual... Then I realized I had forgotten to change my display units, I wasn't going 90 km/h but 90mph... 😳 Oops.

Wow! Excellent, thorough review! Really like this guy's delivery.

And I 100% agree with him - "Electrified GV70" was the *dumbest* naming convention they could have chosen. I see it causing all kinds of online/forum/discussion problems all the time - "I have a GV70" ... "oh sorry, electrified." That's just silly. They could have called it literally ANYTHING else and it would have been a better idea. I like this guy's suggestion, "EV70" that would have been cool. "GV75", "GV7E"... anything. Oh well.

Regardless, amazing review, sounds like Genesis did a lot of everything else right on this one, except maybe range? Maybe once the planet runs out of gasoline, or oxygen... I can trade my GV70 (not electrified...;)) for this one.

Well, in a few years, they'll probably drop the "electrified" altogether as the GV70 will likely only be available as an EV.

My wife and I frequently drive our eGV70 in Eco mode. I happily discovered today that Boost mode works equally well when the drive mode is set to Eco mode. Prior to today's experiment I had assumed that Boost mode would only function with the drive mode set to either Comfort (Normal) mode or Sport mode, where AWD is automatically engaged. Evidently, AWD will always be automatically engaged (regardless of chosen drive mode) whenever Boost mode is activated.

"Tru Dat". I keep thinking I just bought one of the last generation of gas powered SUVs. So romantic.😄

I also liked that acceleration times were listed in the different drive modes, it was the first occasion I had to compare them other than by a gut feeling. Although Eco is definitely slower, it doesn't qualify as sluggish, a bunch of drivers of other vehicles out there would be more than happy with that pace.

Someday it could be a collector item! 😉👍

Beginning with the colder temps and damper conditions of winter, I've been noticing lately that the brakes on my eGV70 are squeaking/squealing loudly when I back out of my garage on the first drive of the day. Is anyone else here noticing this with their eGV70?
I think I'll activate the "disc brake cleaning" function later today and go for a longish drive and apply the brakes aggressively and frequently. That action should help remove any glaze that may have developed on the pads and rotors, which can cause squeaking/squealing.
In otherwise "normal" daily driving of my eGV70, I suppose the operation of regenerative braking greatly reduces the "work load" of the friction brakes, which can lead to a glazing condition.

With all due respect, you may be overthinking this.

Just set the regen to its lowest setting and go for a drive. That will likely take care of it. Takes plenty of friction braking to slow/stop 4900 lbs…

I had this and reported it before my 5K maintenance. The dealership found a sticking brake pad and ended up replacing the rotors and refinishing the pads. Then it started doing it again when I back out of my garage. Reported it again. They found nothing wrong this time. My guess is that it is glazing from the limited use of friction brakes.

I don't have the Electrified but mine does this too after sitting for a while. I work from home so I don't always drive it daily and I noticed more in the colder, damper weather, too. After driving for a few minutes, it goes away. Completely normal.
