  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Electric GV70

I like the looks of the Polestar 2, but your comments align with what I read about its suspension - Perfectly adequate for smooth California roads but too stiff and harsh on pothole-infested areas (Like where I live).

The BMW i4 looks interesting too, if not for the beaver teeth front-end grille. The upcoming 3-Series (Which will have an electric version as well) looks like it's getting rid of giant grilles for a more horizontal look that includes the headlight assembly, it appears better but we'll see better once the prototypes shed their camo.

Not that I'm interested in changing, I just welcome new EV options on the market, the more the merrier.

Just for the fun of it, to change from the pristine car pictures we always post here, I'm going with the filthiest, this is what winter is doing to every car here (And the reason I wrapped the matte paint because all the grime would take its toll on it...)! 😉
Haha. I like your comments especially regarding the BMW beaver grilles (it is a major reason why I am driving a Genesis). I vaguely remember winters back in the northeast. Those, along with black ice and snow, are reasons why I no longer live there (but I do miss Boston and New York; Phoenix area is like white bread...it will fill you up but do nothing for your taste buds).

I have to admit the beaver comment fits especially the iX... Great EV on paper but just the looks of it, you have to wonder if barf bags are included! 😒

Never been to Phoenix, the closest I went is Kansas City. I was just there 2-3 days, so didn't have time to get filled up or lose my sense of taste...😉

I love my GV60P in part because I wanted a small, luxurious and powerful EV. I did a test drive of the iX and I have to admit it actually drove a bit better than the GV60P but I couldn't get over the looks and it was a bit large for my taste/desires. Since then I did what Genesis should have done and shod my GV60P with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S HL rated tires. With that change the GV60 feels planted to the ground and, I think, drives better than the iX. But a warning to anyone else thinking of doing that: it greatly increases road noise and has a shorter life span than the Primacy Tour A/S OEM tires. Those are tradeoff I was more than willing to make but others might not be.

WOW! That looks bad. Are you in Quebec? I know they use lots of salt. It looks like you have the same style wheels as I purchased for my winter tires. Although here in the Southern BC lower mainland they probably aren't necessary. So far no snow this winter.

Thank you for the tire information. I was debating what tires to get once my OEM tires need replacing. I prefer the quiet ride so will stick to the OEM's.

Québec, you got that right! Last clean was a month ago about, with at least one snow fall every week, it's hard to find an opening where the car would stay clean more than 2 days straight. Just looked at the forecast for the next two weeks and it's not worth it. 😒

I like the looks of the GV60, kind of bulldog-ish, a bit reminiscent of the Veloster with the curvy sheetmetal, but will most likely age better. One thing that surprised me was that it has a larger turning radius than the GV70 (39.2 vs 37.7 ft), which says a lot about the fact that from an agility standpoint, the latter is no slouch either. However, for parallel parking in a tight spot on the street, the GV70 is a longer vehicle to squeeze in than a GV60.

I have more tire noise coming from the winters, the summer tires are way quieter. So when the summers are finished I'll stick to OEM, because I like the quiet part of an EV and probably won't notice much getting a few more decimals of lateral G's in handling (The noise I would...😉).

That is why I included the caveat in my post. I don't understand someone purchasing a GV60P and then regularly driving it in eco mode. It makes no sense to me to spend the bucks on a performance model and then drive it in Eco mode. BUT...IMO, the decision on more noise vs. better handling is a reasonable one.

As to the turning radius, I think it comes down to the fact that the GV60 was designed from the ground up as an EV while the GV70 was primarily designed as an ICE vehicle. So the GV60 has a large wheelbase and a large interior space but less exterior space. I have thought of the looks of the GV60 as that of a slightly smaller Porsche Macan a couple of years before the Porsche Macan EV existed.

I don't know about you guys, but since yesterday I've been getting this message from the app (Blocking any remote function on the car and rendering the app rather useless). I don't exactly consider over 24h of downtime anywhere close to a "timely manner", especially in cold weather where remote start is essential.

I'm getting the same message when I touch the refresh icon on the app.
A lot of automotive companies, Hyundai & Genesis included, really struggle in bringing a reliable vehicle connectivity app to owners. I don't know what their difficulties are, but maybe they should consider bringing in more talented IT people. Maybe they need a 'refresh'?! lol

Although I work in IT, I have an idea on how these things are usually built by piling on different designs from different folks with rarely any serious guidelines or design similarities until they become more and more unstable to the point where they just crumble on themselves, which would not make me want to approach that with a 100-foot pole. You just can't continue adding new levels to a building once you found out its foundation is made of Jell-O.

Also, I suspect poor version control management because if an update caused this mess, it should be easy to return to the previous version and put things back the way they were the last time everything worked fine. Just imagine if a major bank's services were out for so long, there's just no excuse for that.

My connected services are down too. Compared to my other two cars (Subaru and Porsche), the Genesis one is the most unstable by far.

My connected services have been working w/o issue, that I did receive a notification to update to a new version of app in the App store (Android).

It appears the connected services are down only north of the border. Genesis owners based in Canada are required to use a different app as compared to owners based in the U.S.

They're back up this morning - Good timing, the car is covered with snow!

Glad to hear it's working where you are. 👍 It's still down in southwestern Ontario.

Tha app asked me to change my password though, otherwise it's back up in the Montréal area, should be coming back everywhere soon (I'm actually surprised it's delayed from one region to the next, I was expecting it to be kind of instantaneous all over the country...)!

I haven't had the need to use the Genesis Connect app for over a week since my car died on the highway owing to the ICCU failure.
