  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Electrify America Sucks

Okay, today was my day. I pre-conditioned my battery for 20 miles (33 degree outside temp) and arrived at the EA charger to see 2 of 4 available. As I started to back in, I saw 2 people in line waiting. I pulled back out and asked the first driver to be told that 2 of 4 chargers were out of service. I got in line, and walked the chargers. 1 was showing normal display but the app showed it in service. 1 had no display and a post it note saying out of service. 1 of the working chargers had a KIA Nero at 93% with 138 minutes on the charge already.
If you are near a metro area, I would be willing to bet the Nero or Bolt charging to 100% is a rideshare driver. I know EA has the 85% solution which I think would be a good idea to go national. The other option is the way taximeters work. Charge a minimum based on time if the charge rate falls below a certain point. For example if the charge rate is below 40KWh then charge the same $0.40 that the idle fee would amount to. That would clean up the rideshare drivers who charge up to 100%. From what I have seen, they are a big problem.

Newly upgraded EA chargers in the last three months and half have been down for a week. :(

In regards to vehicles taking up EV charging spots. On a Mach-E forum someone posted a couple different kinds of notes you could place on or near the driver’s door handle. I use them often. Another person told me to let the air out of their tires.

Had to take a sort-of impromptu road trip today - 265 miles round-trip. Started at 72%, stopped to charge from 18-90%, arrived back home at 16%.

Overall average of 3.0 miles/WH, average speed of about 70 mph, but quite windy and with significant elevation change.

Used a 350KW charger, battery fully preconditioned, but only hit a max of 180KW.

I lucked out in that a charger opened up literally minutes before I pulled up, so no waiting at all for the session to start.

Once I started, all 4 stalls were in use, so it may have been the charger capping the rate - I don't really know.

Still a pretty quick session overall - still very happy with the platform's DCFC speed...

Aside from lengthening the person's stay (having to fill the tires) it is a criminal act (a misdemeanor). The facility may very well be under camera surveillance and you would be caught on tape.

But the notes are fine.

And for a slow charger, too - that’s adding insult to injury!

Why did you choose that specific charger?

Super slow and super expensive - the perfect combination!!

For future reference, there is a Circle K at 8590 Cajalco Rd, Corona, CA 92881. I haven't been to that one but I've had good luck at Circle K stations.

Why did you choose that specific charger?
1. Been testing out charge point to see what experience is
2. Was on my route
3. And of course.... It's at a dealer, got there and they had cars parked in charging spaces. +15 to find someone to find the keys to get me in. Sigh

And sometimes the a*****e is an EV owner. I was at the Phoenix Children's Museum yesterday (for my grandkids) and there are a few covered charging stations. There was a Tesla pulled into one but not plugged in. In my mind, that is even worse than the ICE driver who does that. The EV driver knows better.

I got you covered:

There is a EVGO charger in Dawsonville (one CHADMO and one Lvl 3 charger. I needed to charge about 20% to get home so went to that charger as was on way. There was a ICE (Diesel) Pickup parked in the charger spot so I could not use. Now this charger is out at the end of a retail center parking lot about as far away as you could get and this a*****e parked his truck there just to be an a*****e. I left him a note under his wiper blade. "Thanks a*****e for blocking the charger. Why you would park way out here just to screw up somebody else's plans is beyond me. Oh, BTW......your truck looked really thirsty sitting here so I added two bottles of water to your Fuel Tank.....You're welcome. Just in case your stupid as well as a a*****e, water can ruin your fuel injectors, so I recommend you have your truck towed in and fuel system flushed." I didn't really do this, but I am sure it left him guessing. Whether he learned a lesson or not I don't know. I really didn't care since he had Trump stickers all over his truck.

My personal opinion, that was a totally dick move on your part. And to make it political is even more dickish. No wonder you all lost so badly.

The dick move was parking there. I'm sure the truck driver was tickled pink to get the note - it confirms he succeeded in his goal to piss people off, specifically people who "lost" to his side.

You are spot on. He is proud of that note and sadly it will likely encourage him to do it again.

Honestly OP is no better than the truck driver.

I agree that the OP went a bit too far BUT there is no way that his actions were comparable to the truck driver.

And, everybody, lets please keep our political views out of this forum. There are already plenty of places to do that.

It was not political. I am a life-long Republican. I just don't like Trump....a little bit more than I did not like Biden. I did not lose to either side as I could not bring myself to vote for either of them. And I am not talking like one sticker, I am talking like fifty stickers as well as a flag in the back window. But no politics. You may think I did a dick thing, but if you could see how far away from shopping area that charger is and the effort that guy went to to ICE the charger, then you might understand why I was so frustrated. I then had to drive 15 miles out of my way to reach another charger. Anyway, opinions are like Aholes. Everybody has one.
