  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Electronics in car a joke ... Mute,freeze,etc...give up !!!

You guys are being too harsh.
I have had questions regarding the operation of the Tripmeter and now have questions regarding the HVAC.
If I press Outside air filter, the Recirculating light comes on at the same time and cannot turn it off unless I press Outside Air Filter again. Also, the air conditioning will come one without my pressing the A/C pushbutton. The A/C light never comes on when this happens. I would think when the A/C is on the light would be on regardless of whether it was pressed or not. I would also like to use the system as a simply venting air pass through with the outside air filter in. The system is erratic and seems to have mind of its own. The manual is not very clear or specific so that is no help.
My dealer is working with me on the problems/simply questions I have into understanding how Hyundai's systems work (not like the manual), but they seem to have as much trouble getting Hyundai to respond as I do.
Where do we go from her when the Hyundai Field Service Reps are not interested or simply state that's how it works. A simple conversation with a Field Service Rep would either clarify what I perceive as problems or convince Hyundai that there really is a problem. I don't expect this to happen.
When we have problems and can't seem to get them taken care of or perceive a lack of interest on the part of Hyundai, we do seem to get upset so don't trash people for venting their frustrations. Until you have the same problems you can offer all the solutions you want.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I just read a review from a auto magazine where during a test drive of the 2012 Genesis the audio/nav crashed twice and came back on after several minutes. IMO it is just a matter of time before Hyundai is going to have to deal with this more aggressively as also with the tilt wheel issue.

Do you have any idea where that article was? If I ever have this problem, I'd like to take that in to the dealer, along with these pages, to limit any discussion about there being no widely-known problem.

So far, mine is working as expected, and it works darn well.

EDIT: I did find Car and Driver test of a 2009 w/ tech package. http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2009-hyundai-genesis-46-long-term-road-test-update

It said "The other problem was the sound system twice going mysteriously silent. The first time was on my cross-country drive. I immediately called the Hyundai public-relations office—would you want to drive thousands of miles without a radio to drown out the rear-seat whining?—and was put in contact with a technician who talked me through the reboot process. Apparently the radio can get stuck in Bluetooth mode and refuse to play any audio. The same problem occurred later, at 26,467 miles. "

Coulod you have been referring to a test of the 2009, and not the 2012?
