Hi,
I do not think this question has been asked before. I have a 2015 5.0. I noticed that in the engine bay, the part that's closest to the driver, there are three modules covered by a plastic cover. Underneath the modules is a large well. This well contained a large amount of leaves and pine debris.
I was able to vacuum out a bunch of the leaves/pine straw, but there is still some crap down there. There is a similar well on the passenger side of the engine bay (close to the passenger seat.
My question is, do these wells have any kind of drain and has anybody had issues with water collecting in these spaces? I used to have a Passat with similar wells and they were notorious for collecting leaves and debris. Rainwater would collect in the wells because the drain line was plugged. Eventually the water would make its way through the vents and into the cabin, where it would destroy the TCM (conveniently mounted on the floor!
