  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Entertainment System Reset?

I had bought the 12.5 in March, and got a free upgrade due to bugs to 13.0 in April, I just had been lazy and not done it.

I had paid for the 12.5 update since my car came with 8.5 in March and I wanted Android Auto. In April they sent me an email saying the 13.0 was a free update since I had paid.

I noticed the digital time on the touch screen would take a long time to update and display after I start my 2015 3.8 sedan. This morning, funny enough, driving to the dealership for an oil change I noticed the date and time was completely off (Was set to Feb). So I manually reset it. I told the service guys and they said they rebooted the system and said they could not get the time to display. To my surprise, after I drove off I noticed it was not displaying the date and time anymore at all even after a long drive. I tried to go into the clock and set it myself but it would not allow me to. Even if I switched off GPS to manually enter the time the option was all grayed out. Is there a way to reboot/reset the system manually?
I had the same problem until yesterday, I had tried popping out the SD card last week like someone suggested and it didn't work. However, yesterday we were driving and I decided to pop it out again while driving (I was the passenger) down the interstate. I left it out for about 15 minutes. When I reinserted the SD card, it brought the clock and date display back after reboot. This was after being told by hyundai the day before that there wasn't a fix yet.

Yeah, the Hyundai dealership had no clue. They basically said they couldn't fix it and it is out of warranty. You could bring it back again at a later date but most likely would be out of warranty work.

Did you do the update yourself?

I was also having this problem until I did the 12.5-v13 update this morning. Now it works fine.
That is good to hear, so upgrading to the latest version seems to mitigate this issue, therefore, this seems to validate it is firmware related issue and not GPS hardware related.

My wife has a 2014 Soul w/ Android and it's doing the same thing - The KIA forums are lit up about this as well!

Some of them are resorting to turning off the main fuse switch or at least pulling the infotainment fuse, most are getting away with removing/reinserting the SD card while on & it comes back after rebooting...

This issue fixed itself with no update.

No

No update but you did reset it, right?

Yes I took out the SD card and placed it back. I did it a few times over several days though so I don't know if it was solely why it fixed itself it if something else had anything to do with it.
