  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Ethanol vs Non-Ethanol...

There's no chance in hell I'll use E-15 in any of our vehicles.

LGB!
There is one pure gas station a few miles from me. You pay about 50 cents more for it. Of course you can mix and get E7.5. On a trip though, will you have a choice? Will be interesting to see how this goes but I anticipate some resistance.

We have ample "pure gas" here now and I've used it at times, but I mainly do E-10. I've read E-15 can be troublesome and to avoid it.

This whole E-15 stunt is not going to help out at all. Hell, last night gas jumped .15 cents all over town!

Can only go by the manual.
Could not find anything about it.

Fuel 20.34 US gal. (77 l) Unleaded gasoline

If TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline is not available, one bottle of additive is recommended. Additives are available from your authorized retailer of Genesis Branded products along with information on how to use them. Do not mix other additives.

My 21 G90 manual states not to use Over 15% ethanal. Same with my son's 22 Kia K5

My '19 G80 manual says the E15 is okay to use.

My '16 Infiniti QX50 manual says do not use it.

Just great. And now there are proposals to extend E15 use through summer.

I will say that buying the red cans of non-ethanol pre-mixed fuel at the hardware store for the leaf blower and weed-eater make a big difference in engine longevity. The ethanol destroys the rubber hoses and plastics over time. My small engines are 8-10 years old on original fuel hoses.

In the 2012 BH (and likely all 1st gen cars) E10 is fine. E15 is not.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Where I live, E10 has been the standard "Regular" gas for a very long time. The pumps by me offer both E10 and E15 (with the E15 selling for 5 cents less than E10).....I'll just continue using E10, not only because I don't trust it, but also because your gas mileage will drop because alcohol doesn't produce as much energy when burned.......I've been using Top tier gas since I bought my Genesis.
