  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Two months ago I purchased a 2010 Genesis from Alexander Hyundai located near Cool Springs in Franklin, TN (suburb 20 miles south of Nashville). Everthing about the experience was positive.

The showroom was new, clean, and quiet -- no blaring radio. It only took a few minutes for a salesman to approach me.

The salesman was helpful, knowledgable and not pushy. On my first visit I spent about an hour looking at various models and asking questions. The salesman knew all of the models well, could compare them, and he readily gave prices. He never pushed me to do anything. Since it was in the evening, I decided to come back another day for a test drive.

When I came back for a test drive with my wife and son, the salesman handed me the keys and said "Enjoy yourself, and drive it as long as you want". He sent us off without riding with us.

After the test drive there was no pressure at all. He didn't ask me to "come discuss it with the manager" or say "what's it going to take to get your business". He just asked how I liked the car, and answered more of my questions.

When I finally said I wanted to buy a Platinum Genesis, V8, Tech he spent about 15 minutes with his manager finding a matching model and working up a price. The price they offered was extremely fair, and I just said I would take it without getting into negotiations.

They dispatched someone to pick up my Genesis and drive it back to Franklin. In two days my car was there, the wing badges were installed, it was cleaned up and delivered with a full tank of gas.

I purchased a 10 year, 100k mile, bumper-to-bumper, zero deductable extended warranty for $1750. Once I had agreed to that, they offered me the option of having all maintenance services such as oil changes, 15k, 30k mi service, etc. for 3 yr, 36k miles covered for an additional $200. I accepted immediately.

The whole experience was easy and pleasant. If you live in the Nashville, TN area, I highly recommend Alexander Hyundai near Cool Springs.

Always good to hear positive experiences. I wish we had more sales people like that down here.

Same experience here. I bought my 2009 3.8 from Alexander and the sales staff there was excellent. Just took it in today for the 15,000 maintenance checkup and "Manny" the service writer there was superb. Picked the car up this afternoon.. purring like a kitten. Alexander Hyundai in Franklin, TN are good people.

You may be able to do better with a group buying service such as offered by American Express, Bank of America, USAA, etc.
