If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. YUHAZE>

I've done plenty of opinionated posting with my thoughts on the Borla system. It would be nice to see some others post some personal reviews of their Borla systems, what they've notice and how they feel about the exhaust/car now....

Thanks for calling me out Bradyb!
I do have the borla exhaust installed, but it has only been a week. I was trying to reserve most of my comments until I've driven with it installed for a while.

I am also out of state on business lately, so my driving time is not as much as I would like.
I'll post my thoughts as I develop them.

I can definitely say that performance has increased!
I have complained about throttle response and am very close to providing an opinion on that. I want to say that the throttle is now "more sensitive", that the motor responds much better. I'll share more in time

I think so far the best deal is to contact Jim at vivid, the number is in this thread. That's where I bought mine, although it was drop shipped from borla. I paid $1150.- delivered to my door.

Alvin indicated that the first production run of 5 was made at the CA shop, but all others would be manufactured at their other shop (Tennessee)

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Where's the best price for the Borla? I'm partial to them cause of the Stinger I had on my Vette. Might as well get another for the Genesis...

I'd like to know that about borla too. What's the best price you found so far?

hey yuhaze!
how are you liking the power and response from the exhaust?

I really like the borla exhaust!

I tried to wait until I could offer a final opinion, but with time going by the way it is, I guess I'll comment a little bit right now:

I can't seem to keep my foot off the gas pedal when there is somone in front of me and begs to be passed up! At cruising speeds the car just takes off and sounds grrrreeat!
Also at cruising speeds, the exhaust note is still there, yet minimal, barely audible.

Cabin resonance:
cabin resonance............resonance..........
I've already coated the entire trunk with sound deadening material, I can provide the brand I used if asked, but I won't promote one product over another (again, unless asked)
I've removed the rear seat bottom and back and installed sound deadening material along those surfaces.
A friend sat in the back seat during a short jaunt, and mentioned that he actually felt vibrations coming up through the seat (after I put in the sound deadening material). I wonder why ....
My next little project would be to yank all seats out of the cabin, along with the carpet, and add sound deadening material along the floor (I have 50 sqft left)
I feel that the most aggressive note was used to design the exhaust for the Genesis.
I just read one of Alvin's messages in this thread and noted that Borla are very sensitive to cabin resonance; I think they missed the mark.

Having so much torque, I can accelerate and the tranny will not downshift, giving me acceleration at low rpms, fine with me, I can always downshift if I want to.
With all the sound deadening, especially around the speakers in back, the outside noise has been significantly reduced. Before I did the seat area, a friend mentioned that the exhaust was louder inside the cabin when I opened the trunk, makes sense, and tells me that it is helping.......
cabin resonance ...........
Highway cruising is great, almost no sound from the pipes.

cabin resonance ......
It gets pretty bad, and this is MY OPINION (although my sister was even more sensitive to it)
I know that an alternative is to downshift, but sometimes that would mean two gears in order to get a high enough rpm in order to get above the 2100 - 2200 rpm threshhold, above which the resonance seems to fade.

I really wanted to arrive at a complete solution before I provided my opinion.
Bottom line:
I love it! I can't wait to really take advantage of the extra breathing when ECU/TCU mods are made available. Either way, this beast has incredible pickup, and sounds incredible when accelerating.

I struggle every time I get into the car and know that I will hear the cabin resonance.
Having ridden a bike all my life, I really like to hear the tranny downshift when slowing down, reminds me of riding! (I sold my bike to pay off the genesis - yes it's paid for!!!)
But the cabin resonance ...........

glad your liking it! the resonance doesnt bother me at all. but we have differing needs/wants/expectations. I laughed when i started reading your post, because i havn't been able to keep my foot out of the pedal either. I just put a k and n air filter in and removed a restriction mechanism. the power is even nicer.........

have fun my friend!

I also have a K&N filter installed. I had it before I got the Borla. Alvin thought I should check the exhaust note with the stock filter, because when they designed your pipes, you still had the stock filter.
Do you notice any change in sound with the K&N filter installed?

BTW, Haven't done much high speed cruising yet, but I feel that is where the Borla pipes feel right at home

with the kn filter and the restrictor removed i feel it is louder. not by much at idle or cruise but wot its pretty noticeable. power is pretty deep even pulling in third gear at 100!!

So it has been a while since some of you have posted. I just installed my Borla exhaust today on my 2010 v8. It sounds wonderful at idle, but from 1500 -2000 rpm, I can feel the vibration In my seat and the resonance is pronounced. Does this subside with time after things break in? What has your experience been?

Hey Alvin,

Does Borla have plans to offer a system for the 3.8 at all? I live in So Cal (OC in fact) and I would be willing to lend my car for some testing if needed.... Let me know. Thanks!
