  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

For those that have already purchased, did you also get the Premium Plus Plan for the Extended Warranty?

Haven't purchased yet, but I plan to get the Extended Warranty if I do. I've driven my last 2 vehicles until they died, so I think it makes sense for me.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Wasn't mentioned to me as an option... so no.

I usually don't keep cars long enough for that, but if the price is right it might be worth it to help with resale. I am interested to hear the pricing if anyone knows.

It's on the website ordering system:

$2,430.00
Ultimate protection for total peace-of-mind. All components and labour to repair any mechanical breakdown are covered (except for a select list of exclusions).
8 years / 160,000 km

I do see that on the build section of the site now, but don't recall it when paying for the car online or giving the deposit. Wonder if that was a newer add on. I also don't recall having it mentioned to me. Anyone know if you can add that at anytime before your warranty expires?

Has anyone seen a list of the exceptions?

Are you in the USA or Canada? They are talking about the Canada extended warranty. Warranties are different in each country. For example, the 10yr/100K mile powertrain warranty for original owners (at no extra charge) is only available in the USA. and that will affect the price of any extended warranties.

USA... Curious to read the 'terms' of the extended warranty

In case anyone is still wondering about this, here are the Canadian docs about Warranty.

Thanks for the documents! One thing I noticed is to be eligible for extended warranty, it needs to be purchased within 36 months ans 60,000 kms.

Normally, I'm used to as long as standard warranty hasn't run out you can purchase the extended warranty.

Bought my wife a '15 5.0 Ultimate last month, so far we love it! Being the 2nd owner, it was out of the original factory warranty coverage (1st owner purchased it just over 5 years ago). Because of all the electronics, we decided to look into an extended warranty, so shopped options at 3 different Hyundai dealerships. Below is what I learned......

Two dealers offered both, 3rd party & Hyundai Protection plans. One dealer stated that, while the 3rd party coverage was about $200 less expensive than Hyundai's, the service department found that for many repairs, the 3rd party company required an "auditor" to come and approve the repair before work could begin. He stated the Hyundai plan never delayed repairs done at a Hyundai dealership, no matter what the cost.

I called the Hyundai Protection Plan office and spoke with an agent (in California). They answered the phone immediately, and were very helpful addressing my questions. The agent alerted me to the fact that Hyundai changed the coverage plan contract in 2019, and that it was important to make sure in Section III, #16, it stated that specific "factory installed" electronics (like radar cruise control & parking radar) are covered by the Platinum coverage (if you purchase that level of coverage). He said the previous contract did not cover those electronics, even if they were "factory installed", which could be very costly. He said some dealers were still selling the old contract, and that he was required to check the contract verbiage before approving electronics repairs. You can have the dealer print out the contract for you to review before purchasing.

SHOP AROUND!! I had two dealers quote me for the Platinum Hyundai Protection Plan. One dealer said the Hyundai plan was a "fixed" price, with no discounting allowed, but he could discount the 3rd party plan $400-500, depending on the coverage I selected. The second dealer quoted me $910 less for the same Hyundai 6 year, 60,000 mile plan.

Hopefully this is helpful.....
