  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Factory Windshield Washer Fluid

It doesn’t have any methyl alcohol in it, but it does contain lubricants to help soften water and keep the windshield washer pump and seals lubricated. They do have a winter forumulation, but not sure if that contains alcohol.

A bottle goes a long way, but I still ordered a case since I use it exclusively.

I guess I’m good for at least 3-4 years here in AZ. Might spritz the windshield once or twice a year if that.

I was under the impression that starting with MY2019 cars (G70 being first)...that service folks have to (new) follow rules more closely. Oh well.

Either way...I have been to the dealer already to get a refill at no charge...and it smells and works identically to the stuff from the factory. So I am happy :)
Hit the spray button yesterday and thought dang this is the best smelling washer fluid I’ve ever smelled. Thought I was a little weird at first but glad to see others like it so much.
So are the links from @Alfer the same stuff?

It's whatever the dealer puts in it. They come from the factory with next to nothing in it, and the dealer tops it off during the PDI.

Ditto. Here in Florida, because it’s not going to freeze, at dealer PDI, they use either plain water or soapy water.

Whenever I get my car serviced in Florida, I have a sign on my washer bottle saying not to add ANYTHING to the washer bottle. I need fluid that goes down to at least -10F or
-20F because I sometimes need to drive to my second location (Rochester NY) or my third location (Roswell NM) in mid winter. Fluid that goes not freeze, is hard to find on Central Florida. When I find it here in Florida, I buy one or two gallons. On every trip up to NY, I bring back two or three gallons of the -29F Stuff.

Get this. When cold...you simply add methanol to avoid freezing.
