  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

fastest 1/4 mile on rspec 5.0

Soooo. I had a rather embarrassing moment yesterday. Damn near lost to a fart canned seabring.
I had esc off for some reason. Light turned green and all of a sudden he's gone and I'm still sitting there. Lost all traction and a big cloud of tire smoke. I managed to blow past him by the time I hit 110kph. But holy shit was that close.
Just adds to the argument that races between cars as close as the mustang and Genny can go either way with very small driver error.

Exactly, thank you.
I might have somehow missed the memo?
But as far as I know, there are ONLY two stake holders who are still on working on this problem, with no concrete date for the 4.6, let alone the 5.0! ;)
BTRcc will tune the 4.6, and has tuned the 5.0 overseas, with the condition that you attend a tuning event. Note that the tuner that goes to these events is from Korea, and presumably "the man". I can gather more information from Sam or one of his guys, or y'all can ping them on your dime. :)

There's no canned offering, like with many models.
:grouphug:

I don't know if you know, but "we" are in touch with BTR since hmmm... last year, about 5.0? and as far as I know there isn't anything yet for 5.0
Most likely, I'll be genuine pig, since I live in Chicagoland and I can be in their place in ~45min. ;)

Indeed they are almost ready to test 4.6 tune thanks to the man (Tailwalker), according to the last update.

The 5.0 has not been tuned overseas! But rather they (BTR) still have the loaner 5.0 ECU in Korea (I wonder who it belongs to? ;)) and are actively still trying to crack it.

That is contrary to what a rep indicated, but you may have a line I dont.

Just took my buddies 2015 5.0 stang to the track. With bolt-ons and tire he ran 11.1 @ 128mph

All motor with bolt on mods @ 750' above sea level

The Genesis needs more powa

Wow thats amazing.. Just bolt ons.. amazing.. Bolt ons, we talking supercharger, procharger, turbo and nos. Those are all considered bolt ons,but you said all motor. so does he have a built tranny which he would need to take a 12.9 1/4mile and turn it to a low 11 beast safely. Thats one bad stang, would love to see the vid, did you drive or your buddy? Im interested in what bolt ons he has that shaves off 2secs in the quarter.

Probably no power adders (blowers/turbos) I would bet just a Boss intake, headers/exhaust and tune for boltons.

I went to the track today with my stock 2013 R-spec and couldn't do any better than 13.56 @105.2. I have to say I expected low 13s. I guess the horrible contiprocontacts the car came with originally did me in. I was also running 87 octane and had a full tank fo gas. The temp was a nice 70F and the track had almost non-existent elevation(Louisiana).

That was a very respectable run, IMO!

Switching to a half tank 93 top tier gas, a decent warmed up rubber on a nice 275 rear wheels, disability the ESC, Reving the engine to 3000-3500 RPMs, shifting manually at exactly 6150rpm, may (or may not) have shaved that missing 300ms and yielded that extra 1.5mph recorded by the best run noted in this thread... ;)

Guys - I OWN a 5.0GT Mustang and a Gen 1 5.0 R-Spec. Perhaps there are crappy drivers out there and that is different. But car for car - equal driver. The 5.0 Mustang will kick the crap out of the 5.0 R-Spec all day long without question. No competition. Not talking about drivers here. Just car to car equal driver. The Mustang will run away from the Genesis. Period. The end.

The Rspec a different animal with that restrictive exhaust removed and better tires. I have ran down several Mustangs with some mods. I also pulled my first 2015 GT last month.

Good stock run! You can get low 13's with 93 oct. 87 oct only produces 420hp and the car was weighed down by full tank. (The manual tells you that to achieve 430hp you must use 93 oct)

I agree. I straight piped my Rspec and shaving the weight/restriction has changed it a bit.

I don't know about the 2015 GT but I pulled hard on a 2015 SS.

theres a guy on youtube, vids show him smoking a 2014 stang 5.0 and a 2015 camaro ss. He said he ran a 12.6. That would be the fastest to my knowledge.
12.60s no way I'm a advid Drag Racer and at the track all the time my best run is 13.51 at 103 I don't care what anybody says they will not run 12.60s

I've already ran a 12.66 @113.8 in my car when it was stock. Now I have a tune on it and have no problems walking down mustangs
