  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

First post accident photos smh

Update well finally got some news. They took it apart and said little over $18K worth of damage. A lot of wire damage and rail damage etc etc so it’s totaled. Guess I’m back in the market for another after only 4 months smh.
Sorry to hear. On the bright side, there are a ton of 2016's out there that just came off their 3 year lease.

Update insurance is paying just under $17k for the car gap insurance is going to pay the other $3k on the loan. I really wanted to get another one but I found a 15 sonata 2.0t fully loaded ultimate package with more stuff than my genesis had. certified preown Added bumper bumper up to 100k miles for a few bucks more. Down the road I’ll get another one but this sonata was too nice to pass up.

Cool. Enjoy.

Gap insurance for the win!

Genesis has one of the best crash safety figures, but crumple zones are great for occupant safety but not good
for easy repair or cheap replacement.

If the USA system of selling " insurance write offs " in car auctions is the same as the UK then this car will
get a cheap make-over and be back on a used car lot within a few weeks.

Some will be repaired, but they also will have a "salvage" title so the buyer know what he is getting. Quality of the repair may be excellent or shoddy.

Some years ago I bought a car that was hit and run damaged. I was able to get the parts cheap and had a body shop weld in the back fender. The deal was, make it look good on the outside. Standing next to the car it looked perfect, but look inside and you saw all the welds, just primer, no paint, etc. Done at a good price.
