  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Not wasting any time, Hyundai will be releasing a refreshed Genesis Sedan as it’s bigger brother, the Equus, arrives in 2010. The refreshed Genesis will receive a new grille, as well as slightly redesigned front and rear bumpers. New options include a supercharged version of the 4.6 liter Tau V8, which will only be available with awd. Heated and cooling rear seats and power rear headrests will be available along with new 20-inch wheels.

Wow!!!
I can't wait to try this car!
Heated and cooled seats front and back...WOW!!!

Welcome aboard, Galbi.. And thank you for signing up..

This is all very, very interesting.. How reliable is the source? If this is true, than the Equus is bound to have this supercharged engine as well.. This is great news - I just hope it's accurate and true...

My 4.6 Tech is great, an so far any new features I have seen give me no incentive to trade in what I have going for me....until now. This would make me consider it.

What's that to the right of the engine in back of the air box?

No, the metal object in back of the air box on the right hand side of the photo.

I was wondering the same thing. To me, it looks like the battery, but who knows!

It's aluminum, has fins- seemingly to cool- some sort of electrical part- hi-power transformer/power supply?
I used to love my '89 & '92 T-Bird Super Coupe supercharger power whine....
Mash the Genny V8 right pedal and the power rumble and supercharger sounds as you're pressed to the back of the drivers seat! Is it 2011 yet?

Given the big electrical connector coming out of the rear of it, I'd guess that was the ECU for the engine/car.

I see alot of electrical jumpers and added terminal blocks but I'm stumped since I see no supercharger or blower?? Can't see any added engine take off belt to drive the unit?? Looks interesting, would love to know what some of the mods are!

This just seems like a maybe, maybe not photo, and from where? Does that look like an R&D room to you? Anyway, if true, hopefully they leave a rear drive option, and get the handling somewhat on par with the best.

The 5.0 Tau, rear drive, might be the better alternative.

That big bulk of aluminum housed the dual screws of the supercharger- sucking in air from the intake to the rear.

Haven't we heard Hyndai claim repeatedly that they will not develop an AWD Genesis? I am skepital....

It would be easy - pull the system in the KIA BORREGO and put it in the Genesis. The Borrego has the same TAU V8 4.6L , and same ZF tranny....

You can't just put a truck-based 4wd system in a luxury sedan, sorry.

Hyundai has supposedly stated (can't find the source at the moment) that the next-gen Genesis sedan will have an AWD option. The coupe is also supposed to go further upmarket to more directly compete w/ the G37.
