First the appointment "disappeared" then they smoked in my car wtf.

So my first experience with the service valet sucks. I made an appointment on the app for the car to be picked up for the 3k service on my new g70 from Genesis of Oak Park IL. All seems great until the day before with no email or text from the dealer I call to confirm.

Sorry, not sure what happened but we are not picking up your car, nor do we have you scheduled. No biggie, I schedule with them for next week. Seemed odd, and shit happens so what. Day of the pickup comes and they are an hour late. Again, I am a kind and caring person and yes it screwed with my day and no it is not the end of the world.

The service they did does not show up online and I called them about that. The service manager will call me back... (no call back) I am again, not frustrated, I will call them back in a couple of days. Now fast forward today as I go to wash my car, what do I notice but cigarette ash between the driver door and seat. I also notice some ash stuck to the window (it was raining when they picked it up.)

At this point I am pissed. More so venting here on a Sunday as I decide what I am going to do. Is this the end of the world? No. Is it a shitty dealer experience overall. Yes

Depending on circumstances, it would be nice to go back to the dealer and have them vacuum the ash out just to make a point. Hard to believe in 2020 anyone would be dumb enough to smoke in someone's car. I'd be POd and want them to know about it.

..and you have every right to be. Please explicitly ask them for a dealer survey. Many companies have this little habit of only sending out surveys when they think they're going to get a good review.

Pissed would be an understatement. Dealer needs to fire the axxhole who smoked in someone else’s car. Driving with the window down doesn’t cut it or give anyone the right to do such. I’d almost want to confront the SOB who drove the car to see what they said and make as big a stink in the dealership as possible so the whole showroom and service area is listening. If they smoked in one car means they have done it in others as well.

I called Genesis corporate, attempted to call the dealership and was put on hold for 10 min. Left a negative review in 3 different places. I got an immediate call back from the dealer, who apologized, offered a wash and vacuum and a deodorizing spray and let me know the person had been terminated (sounds like prior to and not because of this specifically.)

I denied the wash and vacuum and removed the negative reviews. I feel better.
