Wow.. someone already put new version of headlight!!!

he said, head light is perfectly fit. However taillight is 98% fit...

I just want to change ASAP!!!!=)

Wow! Any idea where the new headlamp can be obtained? Is this the regular 2012 headlamp or the R-spec?

I would like to know if the lights are OEM and if so how and from where were they purchased? Do they include the DRL and if so what all was involved in making the connection? Why did the rear lights only have a 98% proper fit and is there a picture of them?

According to THIS POST, they appear to be OEM. Looks like the Korean market gets this version and one similar to what's coming to the US (except for the white-out treatment on the turn signal indicators, illegal here in the US).

Wow, I like the one with the 4 individual projectors.
I assume those are LED headlights, not HID, correct?
I like the 'eyebrow' LED lighting on both of them.
But I'm sure those units aren't going to be cheap.

98% means, these 'X' are not fit perfectly.. but if you want you can cut there and mount it.

Yes, these headlights(LEDs) are OEM. In Korea, they released 2012 Genesis, so they can get those part..

price:
LH - ₩625,900
RH - ₩625,900
so both = ₩1,251,800 = around $1000

still hight but it will go down (hopefully).

It is my understanding that the 2012 will have DRL so I do not understand how the head lights will work in our cars. It also looks like we will have to wait until the 2012 is released here before we can obtain the lights. I also find it interesting that the tail lights are not a perfect fit. I like the looks of both the head and tail lights. I know I would purchase the head lights if they will work in my car.

Hey, Jong2Be... do you speak/read Korean? I couldn't navigate the RPM9 site to save my life... wonder what other gems (articles) could be found in such a place....

;)

PS - $1,000 for the entire assembly doesn't sound unreasonable, to be honest with you. The cost of aftermarket headlight assemblies has come down in recent years, from what I've seen... but if you were to upgrade any car with OEM HID parts (from say, non-HID stock), you'd be looking to pay about a grand anyway. Still... like the other style better, personally.

I really do love those new taillights though - they look better with each new shot - and to think folks thought they were not as classy as the current ones.... pffffttt.

:p

Do you think we can get some pictures or more info on the install? I have looked at pictures of the tail lights on the 2012 and the fit seems perfect, should be the same for other year models as no changes in body panels where tail lights are located were made. The area where he shows the tail lights improper fit does not appear to look all that bad. I hope we see the 2012 here soon, I just may have to make a trip to the parts department.

Do you have any other information in regards to changing the lights?
Please look at my question in this post in regards to the DRL lights.

Okay, here is my update.

1. 2012 - three types headlight

A. Full LED Headlight - like Audo A8. Headlights are LEDs!
part # : 92101 3M400 (left), 92102 3M400 (right).
price : (Korean $) 625.900×2(both side) = 1,251,800 = around $1100(just part. not sure shipping)

B. HID - just like our headlight
part # : 92101 3M220 (left), 92102 3M220 (right).
price : (Korean $) 507,100×2=1,014,200= around $950(just part. not sure shipping)

C. without HID
part # : 92101 3M200 (left), 92102 3M200 (right).
price : (Korean $) 435,600×2=871,200 = around $800 (just part. not sure shipping)

Oh, these three lights has daylight LED. not same as ours.

connection is not that hard. cuz they just paid $40-$50 for installation. =)

the bad new is, if you have AFLS, you can't use it right now. However, some of people are try to find out so it will release soon. (not sure but ECU for AFLS pin are slightly different?)

Actually, I contacted some people to buy those headlight, but there is no part currently........

Oh, and lot of people who changed their head light to 2012 type, they also changed their front bumper and side skirt.

Are these what u want? lol sorry, I was busy for several month..=(

NOT SURE FOR AMERICAN VERSION, THESE INFOS FROM KOREAN VERSION.

Thank you for the info. Since I have the AFLS I now know that the head lights are a no go for now. You did not give any more info on the tail lights but I do not see them being a problem to change out.
I found it very interesting that you said some people changed out their front bumper and side skirts. I would guess to change out the head lights, tail lights, front bumper and side skirts would cost appx. $4,500-$5,000, at that cost in this country that would make a nice down payment on a 2012. I also found it interesting to know that the love affair with the car was just as great in Korea as it here. I had no idea that the guys in Korea went to the great lengths of modifying their cars the same as many of us do. None of my cars ever feel right until I have added my own personal touch, that is one of the reasons that I jumped on adding the wings and will probably change out the tail lights.

I would just like to know if there maybe any others who may be thinking of switching their lights for the 2012 lights. I would only switch the head lights if I can get the 2012 DRL lights to work in my car but I would definitely like the tail lights. I think the 2012 tail lights would look better on our cars than on the 2012 due to the fact that the exhaust is built into the bumper of the 2012.

Has anyone switched out tail lights yet?

Ok, so I hope I've found the correct thread... has anybody changed their tail lights for the 2012's? I heard there is a piece on the trunk that does not allow for perfect fit, can anyone confirm?

So.... has anyone installed a 2012+ headlight assembly (w/LED bar) on a pre-2012 Genesis sedan?? Would love to have that LED bar now that all the cars have em!
