  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a 2012 R-Spec and was driving and got hit by a piece of blown tire. Once I stopped I found rubber marks on my passenger side lower bumper near the fog light. I was easily able to rub the tire marks out with a wax cleaner compound, but soon discovered my fog light was loose. It was hinged on the top but the bottom could be pushed in. My question? Is this just a matter of getting underneath the car and taken off the cover and pushing back in? Or is it going to be like when I had to replace (auto body shop) the entire front lower bumper for having the passenger side lower bumper black flat panels broken bracket, when a big rock hit it.

Gotta get under the car to find out. If the mounting bracket on the bumper is broken then who knows how much work it will take. I haven't looked at how they are attached to know.

Thanks NSX. Of course I had to ask this question, before I tear up my bumper just to see. After looking at a few post about fog light replacement, its just a few screws to get at it. If it is a bracket on the bumper that's busted I'm just going to get some crazy glue this time. :D and not have to replace a whole bumper.

If you can clean the area with alcohol, then use bondo to hold the broken bracket in place. It is better than using super glue.

An specific type of bondo?

Assuming what you are repairing is all plastic look for the bondo for plastic. Says it right on the tube.

The same thing happened to my passenger side fog light. How did you repair yours? This is pretty upsetting that the plastic bumper bracket is so thin which is connected to the fog light. I was really starting to appreciate the quality craftsmanship of this car. How did you repair your fog light? Please advise. :(

Road hazard insurance claim. I have had to use my insurance several times on different cars for similar things that have hit the front bumpers. I think every time I had a rental for a couple of days while at the body shop, paid for by my insurance company. Get it fixed correctly, not patched up. Its nearly a new car.

Took the bumper off today. Used loctite epoxy plastic bonder, some heavy duty stuff. Fog light hinges are glued onto the bumper with no movement whatsoever. I'm a happy man.:)

Re: Fog Light MELTED!

My fog light on drivers side, melted, this happened when fog light was Not in use. Also having problems with my seat control, switch has already been replaced 4 months ago, still driver seat position does not move at times. Wondering if others had trouble with fog lights melting. Thankful I paid for extended warranty.

Check out J-B Weld, they have products that will repair pretty much anything including metal, plastic, wood, fiberglass, rubber, concrete, brick, ceramic & glass. I've used it to repair cracked and broken metal and plastic parts on my '78 Triumph motorcycle - it works.
