Can't go wrong with that.Front pads and rotors installed at the dealer are $630. I could have saved $60 going to an independent shop but I’m just sticking with oem.
$150 or $200 for 2 or 4 rotors, and what year? I called my local Hyundai dealer in CA was quoted $800 for labor only !!I just bought the pads and rotors, no other parts, and paid for the install. I think I paid $150 or $200, can't recall - but it was worth it! My back thanked me.
It was a local garage, I bought the rotors and pads (all four) on RockAuto and took them to the garage to install. It was in my G37 in 2018.$150 or $200 for 2 or 4 rotors, and what year? I called my local Hyundai dealer in CA was quoted $800 for labor only !!
Yeah, tough to find a trustworthy mechanic. Just my luck. My brother-in-law had years of experience with DIY and did the job with my assistance ny feeding him tools and what not. And he showed lots of TLC in his work. I told him I’d give him cash, but he refused. So I told him free beer bottles between now and Christmas. The only thing the local garage guy cautioned me on was if I bought aftermarket pads/rotors and he installed for me, he couldn’t honor any kind of warranty for parts. So if something was wrong from the aftermarket supplier, I’d be paying twice for the install and the huge hassle factor of extra time…which I don’t have to deal with that kind of finger pointing.
I get it, they make some $$ on their own markup when they sell the parts and whatnot so they’re looking out for their own interest of course. This is totally acceptable.
I guess I’m just too scared of dealing with any bs, so am sticking with the dealer for everything.
My indie will only accept certain brands of parts - if I buy what they tell me, they're more than glad to warrantee it.Yeah, tough to find a trustworthy mechanic. Just my luck. I was about to give up too; then I looked and there was a third! A third screw? How could I miss it? I’m thinking because I read how to do it YouTube etc and got 2 screws in my head. There was a third. Glad I finally won! I was feeling quite defeated. ;-)OK guys. So I’ve started the process myself. I started with the back and I can NOT get the rotor off of the hub!
Anyone with tips for this? I’ve beaten the thing with a hammer until I’m sore. It’s not budging. I did get the two screws off, and that was a big enough challenge. I am about to give up!
Yep, 3 screws on front and 2 screws on rear rotors!I was about to give up too; then I looked and there was a third! A third screw? How could I miss it? Are you still enjoying these brakes after almost a year? Still recommend them over OEM. I'm looking forward to replace mine soon, but have not decided between these and OEM.Had POWER STOP K702926 Z26 Street Warrior Performance Kit installed over the weekend. So far limited driving and TLC on pedal during breaking in so cant speaker to have they perform vs OEM, but I could already tell huge improvement. Well for once they're brand new rotors and pads and brake fluid flushed. Was told flushed out fluids had minor bubbles. so stopping power vastly improved from doing all the work just mentioned. Will test hard braking once broken in and report back.
