If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Front license plate

What will it take to do the same in New York? We just became the 15th state to legalize weed. But front plates are still a thing. Unbelievable.
"Whether mounted on a patrol vehicle or attached to a pole or other fixed surface, ALPR cameras can scan passing license plates and cross-reference their registration numbers against stolen vehicle warrants, suspect watchlists or active Amber Alerts and send plate matches to officers to aid quick apprehensions."

Don't know whether front plates are scanned much. Maybe the states that don't require the front plate don't think it's fair to catch criminals in this manner.

And probably the manufacturers want the front end to look as clean as possible and slap on a license plate bracket that doesn't look well. The worst options are putting the backet either on the left or right of the front end. I see many cars with the front plate jammed to the left of the windshield inside the car.

The only tijme we see the front plate is approaching the car and when I'm in the driver's seat I don't car if the front end looks cool or not.

I’m in NY so need a front plate. Dealer put a bracket on the grill which looks terrible. Anyone have a solution to place it lower on the bumper? I know there are sensors etc but yuck on the grill kills the whole look.
I had same issue in NH. I searched everywhere and ended up buying the following:

It sits at the base of the grill and looks fine. Its very sturdy bracket.

Hi all. Took off my front license plate this morning and found a bracket underneath. I took out the 2 screws, but it is secured in some other way...assume clamped on somehow. I pulled and tugged but don't want to risk cracking the grill. Anyone know how I can get this off?

FYI. The front license plate bracket from Genesis doesn't drill into the bumper. It has plastic brackets that attach to the grill. Doesn't damage the grill.

Once you remove all the screws you have to squeeze these brackets together to get it to release from the grill. Pictures will show you where they are and how to squeeze them. It's tight back there.

I have the same issue for my 2022 3 3t g70 and I thought the front passenger side hitch mount would work but I keep reading it causes the sensors to go crazy when driving and parking. Anyone on here have that issue or a solution?

I like the motorized plates, but not sure if a brand/model that fits the Genesis.

There are several manufacturers, I have not tried one, but have seen them.

What sensor is it that is at the bottom grille? Is it on all trims? Or just higher end Prestiege.

As an off-hand comment, I don't put plates on the front of my cars. Police get ya' from behind, in almost all cases. And front plates make it easy for radar cameras and such to ID your vehicle. I've been stopped twice for minor infractions (never a ticket, though) and in neither case did the officers check to see that I had a front plate. I do have the plate in the boot, just in case, but so far all that's done by that is add a bit of weight to the car. :)

I did the same for 10 years in Dallas Texas, but the cops started writing tickets for it. So I put my front plate on.

I'm from California and I just took it out. I'll put it back if I get a ticket. The car looks 100 times better without iy.
Same. Am in a big city in Cali. Very good chance that if I ever get a ticket, it's from the meter fairy. Most cops don't pull you over for front plate.

Totally agree as I just picked mine up today and looks horrible. If anyone has a solution, please advise. For a high end brand and such a beautiful grill, why should it be hidden by an ugly license plate in the center of the grill!

Mass. requires a front plate, so this was my fix. First remove the dealer supplied bracket. The dealer uses a base bracket which is sort of ‘friction fit’. A previous post showed this bracket and how to remove it. It’s tight but removable. DON’T do it on a cold day! I bought a Show and Go retractable plate holder on Amazon for $37 (the manual one) and fastened it to the piece of fiberboard that covers the bottom of the car. Look under your car and you’ll see what I mean. When showing the plate, it’s not the best (best is hidden or no plate), but I think it looks better than front and center.

So I guess the Sensors are that low that the license plate can't be moved over towards the center even that low with the show and go or you would have done that...

There are a bunch of wires low and centered. I don’t know what they are for, but I didn’t want to take a chance.

I feel for you. Not a big fan on front license plates, especially non centered. My '18 G80 Sport has the front plate centered on the grill. To avoid front plates in my state (Washington), a lot of the recent model cars have the front plate jammed behind the windshield on the passenger side. Also an ugly solution IMO.

It's got to be centered for me. If I really hated seeing it, I'd go for a retractable electric frame. It only needs to be visible when you're behind the wheel.
