  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey, anyone need a factory OEM, black flying H steering wheel unit w/ airbag?

I replaced mine with the flying wing unit at 1,000 miles. Doesn't come with steering wheel or anything else, just the complete unit. Never deployed, only honked once ;-).

$250 + buyer to pay shipping.

PM if interested.

I think you may be a little high. It took me 18 months and 4 ad postings to sell mine on eBay for $150. Good luck!

How expensive was it to have the winged one installed? I'm investigating whether to buy one and firstly wanted to understand the likely installation fees

Really? That easy?

yeah. There are two torx screws, one on each side of steering wheel, loosen those and you can pull the airbag unit off slightly(wires still connected) Un-snap the wires then install the new unit. Don't forget to disconnect the pos from the battery first though. If you don't have the correct torx bit, a properly sized phillips screwdriver will work(it did for me)

I was at the Hyundai service desk yesterday picking up the car, and mentioned this to the department manager. He got a look of horror on his face and asked if I knew the airbag could explode in my face if I messed up. He told me just leave it alone. What's up with that?

Scary... maybe they are protecting their income...

I thought that too, but he wasn't trying to convince me to bring it in. He just told me its not worth the risk, and better to just leave the factory installed H logo airbag. Weird.
