We purchased a fully-loaded GV70 at MSRP+++ price (supply/demand you know- cough, cough). We have been Lexus owners (5 times) for the past 13 years with no issues. This time I jumped on the GV70 hysteria and paid- in spades. Today we are driving in our small, rural town when the engine starts stuttering and misfiring- seriously misfiring. The check engine light starts flashing and the car goes into limp mode. I am thrilled we were in town and not traveling this holiday weekend on the Interstate. I'm 40 miles from the dealership we purchased it through. I call customer service and I'm happy they are open. I explain the situation to the young lady on the phone and she says we need to have the vehicle towed to them as the vehicle has gone into limp mode to prevent severe damage to the engine. I tell her where we are at and ask them to send their contracted tow service to pick up the vehicle- she informs me that she can send a tow, but I'm responsible for it- I asked her about the new vehicle warranty on this Korean Super SUV and she said it was my responsibility. I thanked her and asked if they had a Genesis loaner available since it was going to be an extended stay. She said they had no Genesis loaners, but agreed to provide a Subaru Outback as a loaner. Thank goodness I have AAA extended range towing service. Has anyone else experienced this type of sudden, low mileage issue with their Genesis GV70? I'm thinking I won't be in the vehicle long if this is the "experience" I can expect for $65k+++ inflated price.
