  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Fun Rspec vids: elec exhaust cut-outs, burnouts, bridge tests

Yeah....

Morris County NJ area :)

So far I've decided to hold off on the Exhaust

The secondary Cat Deletes sound great

So I'm sticking with that for now :D

K because my builder can get u taken care of in VA

My set up allows quick disconnect of entire middle section. I drop it, then reinstall complete stock middle section. It's just a few bolts. I need to add pic of my middle section sitting against wall.

Very cool :)

Sounds great :D

The secondary cat deletes have given the car a bit more attitude- and some excellent power gains

Stomped a dude in a maxima 3.5 and a 335i today

Peace of cake ;)

Planning on building two more of these complete kits. :)

Will post pics and share how long it takes to switch back to stock while I leave electric system with builders as we make a few more.

Correction. Did not take off electric exhaust system. However, I have scheduled to leave my car at the shop to build and test fit additional systems Oct 5th -Oct 14th. PM me with questions.

Oil changes are always fun at the dealer! This is a different dealer than my last service, and the service manager and 5 different guys were looking up under my car on the lift. I thought at the last second to snap this pic before they all got back to work. Thumbs up by all of them on the quality of work and the sound!

Thanks AutoMax Hyundai of Norman Oklahoma!

By the way, they got me right in for service without an appointment. On my previous 2011 Genesis, they were just as nice & friendly. Great dealership.

Anybody know if there is anyone in Arizona that can do this setup? i believe you had this done in Oklahoma right? Even anyone in Vegas, or southern Cal. would be nice.

As I slowly stand to my feet!

That's cool Goemon. Thanks.

Will post vids soon after my November 7th private track day. It will be fun to hear the Rspec sing wide open around the race track!!!!!!!

1 day till track day. Just hoping to get a few laps in to get some good vids of the car with the exhaust. I will be tracking a Lotus Evora and 458 Ferarri! Pics of those hopefully too.

Okay, you know how it takes forever for you to get home, unpack your camera, then finally post the pics and vids??? Well, I got some cool GoPro vids coming from inside the Rspec and stuck on the outside by the front left wheel. I did some drifting and a few fast laps.

Spent way more time driving the Lotus Evora and Nissan GTR.

The exhaust valves were a huge hit! At one point, everyone came to my pit and had to check them out. Vids coming soon!

Moderator: duplicate update after putting pics on wrong thread..sorry.

Congrats to another Electronic Exhaust Cut Out owner. I am thinking about starting a group name for us: "Genesis Thunder Rspec" or GTR club. Ha!:)

Pic of new one piece system with electric down turns and test fit. This is the best build so far. Also shipped air intake to this owner! Total air management.:D

Expensive. $2000 for exhaust. Future kits will be much less b/c we will not weld in the X-pipe. This labor intensive part of build was biggest cost. Will use Vband clamps on straight pipe instead which will save considerable cost. The X-pipe is the ideal set up b/c of proper backpressure and airflow. However, the amount of time the valves are wide open is minimal which should not be a problem. Unless like me, you plan on doing track events or fun track days, the X-pipe is more than most will need.

Ideally, the goal is to get cost comparable to full cat back exhausts, but with a premium. Considering you can have stock sound with full mufflers and then adjust to wide open sound, it's better than getting an exhaust your stuck with. Most aftermarket exhausts cause droning in cabin and many grow tired of their loud exhaust over time. These electronic exhaust valves allow complete freedom. I don't see any reason for buying "1 sounding exhausts" ever again.

^ You are a fantastic salesman. You took the words out of my head. So, would you be looking to get this down under a grand? Two grand is ungodly lol

No drone with this set up. You can control how much sound you want. Since you can go stock quiet, it really is fun to rumble your neighbors windows or scare the heck out of unsuspecting cars next to you.....especially under bridges....then close the valves to stock again. He-He :-)

Costs are coming down not using the X-pipe. Less welding.

Lots of demand. Congrats to those who have bought one. Post your vids.

Hey Driv200, you quoted that your cutout kit would be less than 2K without the X-pipe? Where are you at on releasing that new kit? I'm currently pricing out a QTP system for my '12 R-Spec

for under a grand i am really interested.

how is the reliability of the electronic cutouts themselves? I have read of issues with other ones. Is it easy to change out the valve or repair it should one fail?
