  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Fun Rspec vids: elec exhaust cut-outs, burnouts, bridge tests

Nice setup love the cutouts quiet when u need it and beast mode with a push of a button.

I have a 4in on my supra its definitely fun.

Well, hit a snag trying to save cost. The X-pipe actually allows for best fitment. Making another system now with possible new location of valve placement. Will keep you all posted. I wish I could do these cheaper. These systems are an absolute blast!!!! I think the Rspec was made for this exhaust. Just can't put into words how ALIVE our engines become. I have been running around town on "slightly open" and getting a AMG sound. I pulled into my garage with system set to wide open OPEN one day when my neighbors all wanted to hear it. Next morning, my wife tried sneaking the Rspec out to drive and she woke up the whole house b/c I had left exhaust open. :-). BUSTED!

Durability is great with our quality metals and heavy duty wiring. 20,000 miles on my 1st original kit. No issues. I did have to put lock tite on one of the stop pins. We do this on all our kits now. I have heard of other companies having problems too. It usually exposes the type of materials used. Im sure there are some other good kits too. I make these systems specifically for Rspec so you can bolt or unbolt back to stock. This makes it nicer I think and you can resell it if you sale your car.

I will always try and find savings w/o losing quality. Appreciate the interest. If mods will let us, maybe we could do a 1 time group build. 5 kits would net a savings. But not much. Just thinking out loud.

Hey driv200 might be a dumb question but I'm new to this. So for my 4.6 I wanna get the electric cut out valves also and I believe the stock piping is 2.5 so of course I would get the valves the same size correct? Only asking Bcuz you wrote something about how you put the 2.5 valves on a 3.0" .??

I'm not sure where driv200 installed his cutouts but I think the best place to put them would be where the OEM secondary cats sit. Just buy a pair of MSA secondary cat deletes (just a short piece of straight pipe) and weld your cutout to it.

That's where he had his. Very simple solution.

Okay, now I've been checking out these videos and I have a NEED for one of these setups. Any news?

What kind of news were you looking for? This is all gear that is available for sale and can be installed by any decent shop. Buy some electric cutouts and go hog wild.

Just be aware that electric cut outs can be a pain. When I had mine the motor went out on one of them and stopped working. But all you need to do is purchase your cutouts, run the wiring into your cabin, and then get an exhaust made. :welcome:

Do yo know what brand you had? Cheap ones are known to fail but I ran a set of QTP cutouts without issue in the past.

Getting my QTP cutouts installed tomorrow on my '12 Equus! Can't wait!

Hello all.

Not to bring this thread back from the dead but I have been curious about this whole electric exhaust set-up. I found these videos on YouTube before I even bought my car and I love the idea of being able to flip a switch and change the level of exhaust noise.

The fact that my 5.0 is so quiet is disturbing at times (and other times I love it) so it would be cool to change it as I see fit.

That being said, I have been researching this set up for a while and my friend mentioned this style of cutouts which work somewhat differently than the ones posted here.

Anyone have any experience with these or know why this type of cutouts may be better/worse than the style shown here?
