Has anyone replaced the fake hood vents with an actual functioning vent? I know their are nice carbon fiber patent vents available. DO they help with engine temp? can they cause problems?? any ideas/experiences?
That's kinda what I was thinking. It would be cool to have functioning hood inlets that actually did something but just a hole in the hood, hmm..................So all these homemade mods basically allow rain, muddy water, soap from car washes enter the engine bay, that makes perfect sense.
Well put!If Genesis thought their engine needed to run 10 degrees cooler, then they would have made the vents so that air could blow through them in the PROPER way. The engine doesn't need the 10 degree adjustment that some web forum guy thinks he figured out. All you're going to do is make for a messy and dirtier engine, not to mention introduce possible problems down the road when the dirt or water finds it's way into a electrical part etc.
Think people, think before ya mess with your car (or any other object).
But where is the fun in that?Think people, think before ya mess with your car (or any other object).

Well in this case (drilling holes) is just plain nonsense and could cause more harm than good. People just don't think these days.
I would just like to repaint mine black as the white plastic underneath is now showing. The hot Florida sun and engine heat is baking them. Can anyone enlighten me as to the best way to remove them for painting?
I've had mine repainted (live in soFL and the sun bakes them) -- they chipped within 4months. I'm trying to get them replaced with something (fiberglass/plastic) that IS black so they won't chip again. Any ideas?I would just like to repaint mine black as the white plastic underneath is now showing. The hot Florida sun and engine heat is baking them. Thank you,
Chris
My daughter and I were contemplating som way to fabricate vacuum driven doors, and under hood ducting to direct it to the intakeke. She really wants to put LED lights that brighten and dim as RPMs increase and decrease. We are still in the concept phase. Anybody ever tried any of these ideas?Well in this case (drilling holes) is just plain nonsense and could cause more harm than good. People just don't think these days.
Man, you are a miserable person, and furthermore, why are you on a site where the "aftermarket mods" occur through discussion, when your precious lil pony is ALL FACTORY... get outta here you hater, factory makes it greater... no flavor mashed potater face, breath waster!!
