  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 aftermarket brake pads

I'm getting the dreaded pulsating at freeway speeds again. I gave in and ordered the G-LOC GS1 front and rear pads (their high performance street compound). Got my fingers crossed that it will solve the uneven compound distribution on the rotors.

$341.00 shipped for both front and rear. I'll post my findings (won't be for a couple weeks, though).
I was about to ask why you didnt go the route of the tsb and euro spec pads but then remembered how you got screwed on your warranty :(

$341 for brake pads?!?!?!
Omg!
Yeah, it's crazy. I had to pay $400 for just the front factory HP/Euro pads!! 😵 Way too much, but there's not many choices yet.

So on a side note, I did the service bulletin and they replaced both the pads and rotors at 5k miles, I am at 7500 now and its doing it again. I am not sure the TSB will fix the issue.

Has anyone found any reasonable $100ish brake pads?

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
The website that Todd mentioned some time ago has lots of front pad options at reasonable prices for the Stinger GT with Brembos. Should fit?

So if we don’t have pulsating brakes, is it just a matter of time? Is the issue only with OEM pads or are rotors warping some? Only asking Incase there is something preventative I can do before this issue comes up? I’m used to paying maybe $60 to $75 per axel for pads. Over $300 for pads, not something I would have expected.

Well, keep in mind the $341 shipped is for both, front and back pads. KNS, along with other places, have many options for front pads, plenty of which are less than $100 for a set!

Part of the reason I'm getting these over the Euro spec pads is first, they cost less, and second, they are more aggressive.

Here is a set I'd get if I were only replacing the fronts...

- KNS Brakes

Very inexpensive.

Problem is there are not many options for rear pads. Only 3 that I know of... G-Loc, OEM Euro spec, and Centric (posi-quiet ceramics, not their metallic formula). Personally I prefer replacing both front and back pads at the same time, and I like to stick with the same compound.

Where did you end up buying from?

Edit: NVM... Apparently I just had to scroll down.

Received my G-LOC brake pads (front and rear). Planning to install them tomorrow. I'll make a new thread with my thoughts after I get to play around when them a little bit (assuming they fit!)

Did they come with brake hardware as well? (The little metal/clip like things). When I had my Mazda, that was rare, and only Autozone included hardware with pads.

Nope, just the pads.

That's the beauty of multi-piston big caliper setups like these - pads go in and out no sweat!

Wait Todd didn't you just replace your pads? Replacing them again with different pads?

This is the first time I've replaced the pads on my G70. :)

Looks like Hawk is now making both front and rear pads for our cars!

Specifically....
- Performance Ceramics
- HPS 5.0
- HP Plus

Nice. Wouldn't mind getting a set of HP+'s, I had those on my previous autocross car and I really liked them.
