  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 Lease Comparisons and Discussion (USA)

Now that these vehicles are actually for sale, there should be lease numbers. Anyone seen them yet? Interested to what a payment would come out to.

I checked Edmunds but didn't see a thread yet for it. Could be that they aren't leasing yet and are following what someone posted the other day that they officially won't be rolled out until November.

Same. When I e-mailed the sales manager about the G70, and he told me they're getting them, I also asked about some lease numbers. He never responded. I have a feeling they either can't or just don't feel like dealing with it as they figure people will buy/finance them.

I just posted on there asking if they are out yet. Hopefully someone answers soon. My guess is though they won't be leasing for another month or so until they are more widely available.

I got a response from Edmunds - there is no information available for model year 2019 leasing. Given how the 2019 rollout has gone I guess that is not surprising.

At least we know there's nothing yet. Maybe lease numbers will be out in November then.

Try calling him, why not? At least you could form a relationship. Email is easy to do and easier to ignore.

You can't call the Edmunds forum as far as I know. The leasing area is monitored by finance people who have access to the information for each manufacture. If we were dealing with a dealer I would absolutely agree with you.

Sorry I thought you meant the dealer.

Copy and paste from the G70 Availability thread. Not posted by me just copying here as a starting point

"Got a call from Alexandria, VA dealer. They have 4 on the ground. Three 2.0T and one 3.3T. They are getting cleaned up and ready for sale.

Had a good chat. He plans on selling MSRP. Perhaps one could get a bit off.

But...Genesis will give you $1k incentive if you own a competitor brand. Audi is one of them.

Next...leasing numbers not bad. On that 3.3T the residual (10k) is 55% and MF is 0.00071 (~1.7% APR). So all that is looking great !! Financing is pretty low too. I think he said APR is 1.6% or something."

Those are actually very good numbers for a brand new model, I just hope the 2.0T Sport 6MT has similar, but probably not.

For the lease vs. buy comparison, my credo is "lease new cars or buy used". The 2 times I bought brand new cars is only because I got crazy good deals:
2001 Ford Mustang GT Convertible 5MT: MSRP $29k and paid $24k OTD (MI sales tax is 6%). This was a dealer demo which had just over 1200 miles, driven by the staff.
2008 Infiniti G35S Sedan 6MT: MSRP $37k and paid $29k OTD. Stacked Nissan VPP-A plan (Employee discount) with year end incentives and rebates, plus a very eager dealer to dump a RWD manual sports sedan in Michigan in December.

My lease payment target is always 1% rule; meaning monthly payment including tax is 1% of MSRP. Of course there are many variables, but I never put money down unless it is refundable MSDs, or just 1st month payment and startups.

However, I have beaten the 1% rule for my past few leases. The best least I ever had was my 2016 Hyundai Genesis sedan AWD: $42.5k MSRP and I leased for $283/mo for 12k mi/yr for 36 mos. So now I've spoiled myself. My wife's last two QX60 leases have both been $335/mo on a $47k MSRP vehicle. Some brands lease better than others.

Let's hope Genesis doesn't kill lease programs like Kia did for the Stinger. Even at 1% lease rule, I wouldn't pay $500/mo for that car.

I truthfully don't think we will get close to 1%. That is the gold standard but without huge incentives (Stinger levels) and low MF (definitely not Stinger levels), I think the top trim will still lease for $600+. With that said, state taxes and dealer fees vary from state to state so it really depends where you're located, but with the numbers supplied above, a true 1% (zero down) drive-off will be somewhat difficult...at least where I'm from.

From some discussions I had today...on a 3 yr lease with 10k miles...on top Sport trim...
Res = 56% (not bad considering S4 Prestige is 53%)
MF = 0.000542 (1.3% APR)

Those number are really not bad. If you can get it at MSRP and get the $1k competitors incentive...I really cannot complain that much.

Try to squeeeeeze another $500...and if you are trading in...play with those numbers.

I normally would not put money down...but in this case...I am willing to do all taxes and fees (minus freight) down. I have been saving and waiting for this car...so I am willing to sacrifice a bit.

With all that said...I wonder if I can get it close to $650/month. Really wish they had 7,500 miles. I do such low miles...that at the end of 3 years I bet I can sell it and make money off the lease.

I used this site...
Auto Lease Calculator

I got this...but it did not ask me for mileage :(

Monthly Lease Payment: $612.29
Monthly Depreciation $545.97
Monthly Interest $41.92
Monthly Tax $24.40
Money Factor Equivalent APR 1.30%
Upfront Payment $3,000.00
Total 36 Lease Payments $22,042.26
Total Cost to Own After Lease Ends $56,079.12

I use LeaseHackr Calculator. I put your numbers in and if you paid everything up front I came up with $645 a month, I probably used a wrong number for your situation. The miles/yr aren't important since you can enter the residual value. On Leasehackr it does have access to some manufacturer's data so filling in the miles it automatically fills in the residual.

I wanted to stay $650 or under...so I am ok with that. I got a quote for $14k on my A4 which blew my mind. Few grand more than I expected...so putting $3k down is not a problem for me.

Are you counting
1- $995 Destination charge?
2- $799 Adquisition fee?
3- Any dealer/documentation/ transfer fee?
Without any dealer/doc fee and zero down I'm getting around $700 (w/o taxes)

Yes
Subtract $1k incentive
$3k down
Tax is 4.15%

Yes Sr around $650. You are correct
Phew!!!

So honestly...ok deal? I don’t want to wait for months for price to come down. The $1k incentive is ok plus getting good money for my A4.

My thinking is RV and MF are quite good.
