  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 Lease Comparisons and Discussion (USA)

I was never aware of "MSD" available for Hyundai.

They probably still don't have one. I think Hyundai leases pretty well so people wouldn't take advantage.

Yeah you can't do it with Hyundai, Genesis, or Kia. I still think it justifys the 1% rule because you're going to get that money back. That's just me though.

And that is perfectly valid, this is an art not a science. (y)

It should be more science/math than an art.

You would hope but since we are talking about opinions on an opinion it is an art. Also economics/finance/investing in general is an art not a science even though formulas can be used there is no "correct" answer in many situations since it is an opinion. May be fact/formula based but still an opinion. If it was truly a science, investing to never lose and always gain big would be easy. ;)

Can't wait for the configurator to see what I want will actually cost. These lease rates of $ 650.00, for a G70, WOW.. A friend of mine leased a New 2018 G80 Premium in August for: $ 500 per month / 36 months / 15,000 miles per year / 0 down and Drive -off. 0. Car had an MSRP of $ 48,000. No trade. Good credit. Car was leased in Vegas from a Genesis Dealer..

Does the G70 window sticker give the production date of the vehicle?? Good info. here. Thank-you..

Unfortunately it doesn't. A member here purchased one last night and we are waiting to hear back from him with the details of his deal as well as the manufacture date. It is in the G70 Availability thread.

That's because Genesis now has a huge Lease cash incentive on the 2018 G80 of around $5500-$5800. But not for the G70 taht is completely new.
We need to wait some months to see those discounts on the G70.

Don’t know if this helps anyone, but my guy estimates the Design 3.3 AWD to work out like this based on MSRP of $51,805 (as posted in the Availabilty thread):

Residual: 54%
MF: 0.0004
36 months, 12K miles/year
1st month and plates due at signing
$693/month, 36 months

He says not to hold him to the $693 as he hasn’t seen an actual invoice yet, and he won’t be charging me full sticker. The numbers (residual, MF) are real though.

Estimated to arrive with 2 weeks, possibly this coming week as they are good to go as a dealer, just waiting for the cars.

What dealer?

Man... I learned so much from this thread! So much info shared

You aren't earning the MF, you are earning the savings from the lower payments each month. Lets say it saves $50 a month in payments so 600 a year. Divide that into what your deposits were and that is your return. We would need real numbers to make a meaningful calculation since it will depend on the original lease payments, MF, MF reduction etc. I would think the return would be quite a bit higher than you would get in a savings/money market account.

Exactly. I just leased an 2017 Infiniti QX60 this July and put 3 MSDs (max allowed since MF was already pretty low) for total of $1005, which saved me $15/mo on the payment. So $15/mo x 39 mos = $585.

Letting Infiniti hold my thousand bucks for 3 years saves me almost $600. I don't know any savings/checking/CD that will come anywhere near that rate of return.

And yes, taking advantage of MSD definitely counts toward reaching the 1% rule. Most people don't even know they exist, and those same people blindly put money down as cap cost reduction with no questions asked because they think they got a low payment.

MSDs are so powerful. Genesis would be wise to have an MSD program to encourage people to lease the car.

Very good MF, good RV but no incentives. I will wait to see what happens in the next couple of months..

According to those numbers the 3.3t Sport 36/10k lease is around $675 monthly plus taxes and dealer fees, zero down.
Edit, that is w/o incentives
