  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 Lease Comparisons and Discussion (USA)

Dealer ought to be incentivized to move 2019 models. Call their bluff and tell them you can get circle A and could have done that last year so you want below circle A now. Some have reported dealers being really tight wads instead of moving cars. Knock another $1000 off and give them your price. Walk if need be and let them ponder your offer.

Change in plans....

Final decision in engine and trim will be the 2.0t RWD Sport in Victoria Black with Black and Gray stitching:

Best I could get a lease quote on today is
MSRP: $46,065
Selling Price: $41,342

Yeah....Currently got a dealer to go $1k under Circle A but then they said "Oh, this is with the extra lease cash we're giving you. You can't stack Circle A and get lease/dealer cash." So back on the hunt.

Move on to a different dealer, you shouldn't waste your time with a dealer who is being dishonest with you. Circle A, lease cash and base MF can all be used together.

Exactly. I switched up my search to a 2019 G70 2.0T RWD Sport (3.3T too much vroom for my daily needs, increase in insurance rate by 90% were my deciding factors). I got this from the 6th Dealer I've emailed:
  • Term: 36/10
  • MSRP: $46,020
  • Circle A: $42,322
  • Selling Price: $40k flat
  • MF: .9% APR
  • RV: .44
  • Lease cash: $6k, no dice on the $2.5k dealer cash but they beat the Circle A price so seems tolerable to me
  • Monthly payment $500 including sales tax
  • Drive off: $1,250
Looks okay/good to me, but I'll defer to you guys on this deal.

Looks like a good discount. Without some more information it is hard to judge but the monthly payment seems a bit high but of course that depends on your tax rate as well as the fees they are charging,

Don’t let the dealer BS you on stacking discounts. Everything is stackable with Circle A, you just may have to push the dealer some. Many have reported this same tactic by their dealer and many, myself included have said Circle A, lease cash and competitor vehicle discount all got stacked on our deals. Your $40k flat costs you found does not seem bad, but $500 monthly lease payment seems a little high. As TurtleBoy has said, without knowing what all fees are built in it’s hard to tell how good you did? If you like the car and are comfortable with the deal, do it. 2019 sport models, at least in my area are drying up pretty quick.

Looks to me like they're applying your $6K of lease cash to the MSRP price and not the Circle A or lower price. We both live in CA, so our tax is similar. My G70 is a 3.3T purchased last month and about $3K more in MSRP, but my payment is about the same as this one. Also, mine was $0 drive off. This payment seems high for this car.

As others have said, you'll need to show more numbers to fairly evaluate this deal, but to me it doesn't look so good.

Isn’t he getting screwed? circle A should be taking off $3k at least, plus $6k lease cash, plus the $2.5k dealer cash (which genesis confirmed most definitely can be combined)...takes his price to ~$35k before taxes. $40k sounds like a rip-off.

He is getting the lease cash from what I read and the quick calculations I did. The selling price is below Circle A and then the lease cash is applied.

I just checked out Edmunds and the MF they are really marking up the MF. It looks like the base is .00001 which would be .024%. .9% is still low but you should push for base and might as well go for the entire dealer cash amount. Right now they seem to be holding back about $178 of it.

Every single dealer I've emailed is 'not aware' of dealer cash :cautious:

Like I said, it really is only $178 in your case so not a big deal. If I was you I would worry about the getting the MF to base and then get a complete listing of the deal including all fees. Once you have that, the can be run through a lease calculator to make sure the numbers match to what they are quoting you so there is nothing hidden.

I agree. Concentrate on the big numbers. If you go after the small change, sales will likely hold out, wear you down and and then give in knowing that you have missed the bigger savings But will feel you got the best of them. Know when it time to close the deal.

Is the $40k selling price you mention before or after the $6k lease cash?

In general, selling price never includes incentives those are applied after the selling price. In his case, it is definitely before the lease cash given the payment he is quoted. Without the $6k lease cash the payments on a lease of around $40k will be over $600 a month given some assumptions on fees and taxes. Using those same assumptions with the $6k lease cash the payment is around $450.

I got another dealer to match the previous dealer's quote but with a MF of .00001! So, I am beat and worn down. Will sign and drive tmr o_O

Good job! Congratulations, good luck, enjoy and be safe.

Thanks for the help guys!

Nice looking car and a great deal. You beat Circle A by over 2K which can probably largely be attributed to your hard work, and dealer cash availability plus them wanting to move the car. I am not sure that the deal is very repeatable for others.

I thought I got a great deal with Circle A, but I now know we left some meat on the bone, largely due to asking the dealer to get the car we wanted and I believe I only became aware of the dealer cash after we "made the deal". Not sure when the DC started but I only started seeing discussion when we were waiting for the car to come in, and I do not think I could have gotten to rock bottom on a car that was in relatively tight in supply.
