It's a shame about the acceleration numbers; the engine definitely has the capability to outdo almost everything in its class, but Genesis chose to tune it very conservatively. I'm not sure why the base price in the chart is set to $55,000 for the Dynamic Edition when the text says they estimate the Dynamic Edition at $50,000. If the Dynamic Edition is indeed $50,000, that would be amazing in terms of reducing the price of every other trim. But I doubt that's the case, and $55,000 may actually be more accurate.
What I find amazing is the comfort evaluation C&D gives the G70. They say the suspension is taut with body roll yet still absorbs bumps very well even on this sportier-tuned Dynamic Edition. This is the same as when Alex on Autos said suspension is sporty yet still gave the smoothness of the ride an A+, which would be the same as the comfort-oriented
Stinger and air suspensioned Mercedes C-class. Honestly, I thought Alex may have gotten some bias for this standard, sport-tuned suspension to ride as well as an air suspension, but with C&D's evaluation I guess Genesis just hit a miracle.
Also on the comfort side, C&D says the G70 has 65 dB of noise at 70 mph, which is insane if you look at their other measurements for competitors. A majority of the competition (Lexus, Mercedes, BMW...) gets 69 dB, the
Stinger gets 71 dB, and the Audi A4 was class-leading in noise at the time at 67 dB. The G70 is lower than those by a proportionally significant amount, and dB is a logarithmic unit so it's even better than it seems.
