  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey all,

I was looking for a Tips and Tricks thread on the Genesis G70. Didn't find one( did I miss it?) So, creating one now.

Amazon Alexa integration Is seamless

go to skills section on the Alexa app on your smart phone, Search for "Genesis" skill. When asked, Login with your genesis connect login and you are good to go..

The commands to start the car and lock and set temperature is below in the screenshot.

Been using this as I dont have to takeout my smartphone to remote start the car in the mornings. only con is that Alexa asks for your connected services pin and you have to say it out loud.

Too bad this isn’t available on Canadian version.

When you come to a stop, you can turn the car off without putting it in park and it will automatically do that for you.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
You don't have to release the parking brake when you shift from P to R or D.

You can make your own easy access setting by custom saving a memory seating that helps with getting out. Someone else came up with this tip.

You can modulate the brakes in the 3.3T while in sport mode to avoid the clunking and rough down shifting when coming to a stop. It's more of an art that is hard to explain.

If you remove the SD for Nav, the car defaults to the climate control view, which to me looks pretty classy. The beauty of it is that I find the interface is ready faster as well. Since I use Android Auto, I don't miss the factory Nav. I also notice that AA is ready to go within about 10 seconds...

You can exit paddle shifting (manual) mode by either pulling back on both paddles or by simply "toggling" the shifter into D position again. I find the latter method reacts faster.

It was me. One of my brighter ideas that day. Lol

Or hold the upshift paddle and it will exit. (Someone else deserves credit for that. Forgot who)

Pro tip: Keep a charging cable in your car. Charges faster than the (still very quick) wireless charger and also gives you charging options for passengers without wireless charging capabilities.

I use this but that doesn't unlock any of the door. if I need to grab something from the back door, I have to use the fob to unlock it. also I run the engine for like 15 seconds on idle before turning the car off.

Launch Control -

Put the car in Sport mode, make sure the car is in the ideal operating temperature. Press and hold the traction control button until both ESC and traction control turns off and you see the collision avoidance system deactivated sign. step on brake and throttle until revs build up and the dash says launch control ready, release the brakes and fly off.

DRL's turn on with Ignition -- If the lights are in off position, DRL's are on.
Auto lights are really sensitive. in a gloomy day, your head lights will be on.

pushing the light stalk backwards once will make the auto high beam ( if equipped) feature turn on.

I figured out the paddle exit.
I keep a spare cable for the passengers too front or backseat.

If you leave your lights on (not on auto, but full on) and turn the car off, the lights will go off. When you turn the car on, the lights will go on again. You never have to worry about a dead battery because the car shuts the lights off when you turn off the car. Genius Genesis!

On the flip side, I still laugh when the car sounds its chimes because my windows are down or the moon roof is open. Every car I have owned prior to the G70 has been the opposite--there are no alerts for downed windows but it screams when you leave the lights on.

Holy crap. Two months in I was releasing the parking brake every time before putting in R. Thank you for sharing this tip!
