Thank you! What is the date or month of the C&D issue?
Never mind...I enlarged it. Thank you again!

Not sure... he made some questionable comments a couple weeks back here involving language and other slurs... may have been bannedWhere is @Beefer at? Can you make some more calls to the higher level ppl at Genesis? How'd your test drive go in Canada?

Oh alright. I wasn't saying he was, just a possibility for his absence. Also he's up in Canada visiting family and enjoying the G70 so he might not be checking in here. I'm hoping October is a safe bet at least ...He wasn't banned. I wasn't trying to bring up the past or have him even address his comments. He just happenned to get on the phone with ppl that seemed to provide decent info. If I don't have my car by October I just want to buy something else. This Fall update has me rattled.
Driving it soon. I got shunned from the board. Guess I’m back now.Where is @Beefer at? Can you make some more calls to the higher level ppl at Genesis? How'd your test drive go in Canada?
Welcome back! What color are you getting do you know?Getting it in 2 hours. I got shunned from the board. Guess I’m back now.
Dunno...heading to dealer.Welcome back! What color are you getting do you know?
I just called a couple local dealers (Northern VA) and one of my local sales managers informed me that they were the first authorized G70 dealer in the country! He said he has about a 20 person wait list and he can only promise that his inventory will be greater than anyone in the DC Metro Area and he should be the first dealership to get stock.
His best guess is early October, but he will keep me posted and told me to call him in a couple weeks for an update.
That all sounds like a load of nonsense. I wouldn't want to deal with buying a car from that guy.
See if this helps:

Read through the forum. It has been confirmed VA is one of the first to be authorized to have stand alone Genesis dealers. I'm in the part of the state with the highest income as well, not sure what is so hard to believe.
But for a dealer to "know" they're the first, have a waiting list of 20 people already for essentially an unknown car brand, for a car that has had 0 advertisement so far... it's just too far fetched. Typical salesman tactics. There are barely 20 active regular posters on this (G70 section) forum, let alone people putting their name down on a list to buy the car.
Most of the people I know don't even know what Genesis is outside of a band or the first book of the bible.
There are cars sitting nearby in Baltimore so it is quite possible they will be the first to get some. It is also possible they are going to supply dealers on a first come basis. Given those facts, it is "possible"
They are also the words of a car salesman. My guess is, he has a list of 20 people that won their choice of a Genesis Live album or a Bible book.
Agree that the 4.7 seconds is slower than expected and higher than Genesis mentioned in their release of 4.5 seconds; then again the test was a RWD version, and the press release was quoting 4.5 for AWD. I'm guessing AWD does better with a launch with more initial thrust more than compensating for the increased weight.Looks to be the September issue. Definitely worth picking up. Been a long time since I've bought a magazine but this one looks to be worth some attention.
Interesting, their times are a bit slower than the informal reports we've been seeing. I wonder if this will be consistent across different magazines' reviews or whether there will be some variation. 0-60 here was 4.7. Informal reviewers were estimating 4.5 and some speculation ran down into the low 4's. Now we have to keep an eye out for Road & Track's review, along with a few others. We well may not see comparative reviews until we actually have the cars on dealer lots. It seems the comparisons are sort of aimed at rekindling interest in cars that have already had their debut. We'll probably have to wait for the competition's 2019 models to hit the streets before we see comparisons.

I don’t know much about launch control, but it seems to help a few tenths of a second in 0-60. The best news generally seems to be that there is not any noticable “turbo lag” in the 3.3T. My Tucson is a 1.6T and even in Sport mode there is a bit of initial hesitation, but is better than the 1.8 in my Elantra.
Athough I will likely still drive the Elantra a fair amount, I’m looking forward to a significant power upgrade.
I think this belongs to this thread.
As a potential buyer, I am just a tad disappointed with the trap speed but seeing how they tested it in California, 91 was likely used. We won't know the correction factor until they upload the test sheet on their website. Article also states they expected it to be faster than the Stinger but this particular example wasn't.
