  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 US Availability?

If they don't budge on the price, good luck! The only selling point of this is it's supposed to be cheaper. If they try to put the sticker price on you, it's almost the same price as the german cars after minor negotiations.

But it also stated this:

G70 Advanced 3.3T AWD: $45,750

Includes all above-referenced G70 Advanced 3.3T RWD content plus:

· HTRAC® AWD System
· Heated steering wheel
· 18-inch alloy wheels & all-season tires (F & R P225/45R18)

BTW I'm also getting the RWD so it doesn't matter to me either.
You are correct, I didn't see that first time around because I wasn't focused on AWD. Also, it was not clear in the first PR for trims that AWD got 18's.

Honestly, I was surprised they're putting the 10-spoke on the Advanced and Elite 3.3T in the US. In Canada all of the non-sport 3.3T's got the 20-spoke wheels. So I thought maybe they'd reserve the 10-spoke for Prestige in the US, but they decided to include it for all non-sport 3.3T trimes except AWD.

I just built a BMW 340i xDrive with just what the G70 offers on the Sport and it came out to $63,585 (still no cooled seats). The price advantage even after negotiating is still going to be fairly significant (Unless you're a world-class negotiator) and throw in the fact that the newly released model is in all likelihood going to increase in price I'd expect that price difference to grow even more vs MSRP on the G70.

Edit: Based on pictures and where the heated button is, it doesn't appear that cooled seats are available on the new 3-series either.

I've priced the C43 and S4 as well and the S4 is the 'cheapest' of the three at around $59K (Prestige) with the Benz topping out around $65K, you can certainly cut options out that you don't want and get the price lower or add more and the price of the G70 becomes even more compelling but wherever you end up the G70 based on numbers alone (Since I haven't test driven it yet) is a great deal compared to the competition they are targeting.

Like almost all Americans I can't speak for how it drives but Beefer was a pretty big fan.

Lived in Chicago for 3 years and the 18s might be better with how bad the roads are. I had an Infiniti G37X and by the end of my lease, that thing felt/sounded hollow with the beating it took there.

I'm with you though I'd like the 10-spoke with the AWD Sport, the 5-spoke just don't do anything for me and I've already got dark grey wheels on my IS350 F-Sport and they always look dirty.

I'm curious if 17's will clear the Brembo's. They sound very similar in size to the old Evo X Brembo's which did not clear 17's, so it might be 18's for me as well.

I believe it's just 18s as the smallest size, no 17s offered.

Thank you. Regardless of how you look at it, unless dealers start charging $5-10k over MSRP due to "initial demand" just as they did with the Focus RS, Civic Type R, GT350/R, etc., you'll still be saving thousands over a comparably equipped Audi, BMW, or Mercedes Benz. To be fair, we don't know what Genesis dealerships will do pricing wise. And as far as them not answering calls, negotiating, etc., I'm sure they're just as pissed off as all of us and on top of it all, have consumers hounding them every day asking the same questions.

Makes sense. Definitely will need winter tires as I want the RWD 6MT Sport. I've driven my lowered GTI on winter tires through plenty of snow. I figure if my parents back in the 70's drove RWD cars on crap tires with zero assists, I'll manage just fine.

An equivalent S4 with the 3 year maintenance is close to $67k. MSRP. $16k difference is huge. S4 has 1 year less warranty.

I tested a loaded S4 last week. Just as fast. I couldn’t tell the difference. Only preference was the MMI and Vitual Cockpit.

I think dealers took advantage of highly desirable limited edition cars like that and that lack of supply drove up the demand and dealers took advantage of the situation. I can't see Genesis allowing that with a car that is marketed and expected to be widely available (Eventually). I had calls with both local Genesis dealerships as well in central Ohio and was not pleased with the customer service experience either, in the interim I'll chalk it up to frustration for all but hopefully that will resolve itself once they have ample supply for customers.

Spot on, I didn't even include the maintenance package for the other two which is a must from the Germans.

You saying it drives so similarly does help me try to be patient. That patience was tested Sunday when I had to replace a tire from a nail puncture, then again, I have 18s instead of 19s so it was less expensive than it would have been in a G70.

Depending on the franchising agreements and the state regulations, they may not have any say in whether it happens or not. There is usually wording on corporate offers that the final price is determined by the dealer. Hopefully the cars start flooding into dealers shortly and that would lessen the possibility.

Couldn’t get it plugged?

Couldn’t get it plugged?
Unfortunately, I couldn't, the nail hole was about 1/10" from the sidewall. I replaced all 4 tires at 20K (Boo to Bridgestone Turanzas) and I've had 3 more replaced since for nails, I'm at 39,550 miles, this car has been a little bit cursed for me.

A bit off topic, but Car and Driver just posted the intoduction of the G20 3 Series. It's official, Audi and BMW will not have 6MT's for their 2019 models, except I believe for the M3/M4, but that's in an entirely different price bracket.

Who does that leave competition wise for the 2.0T 6MT G70? The 2.0T ATS?

Manual no longer available in the ATS either.

Man, this really scares me that Genesis won't offer the manual in 2020 when I'm closer to being ready for a new car.
